Horses feel panic. Cooper is finnish

I bet on it too, I could see the fall before it happened, cooper didn't know how to present the horse at the fence
Report maleuk01. • November 17, 2016 2:19 PM GMT
I thought needs a short step and just pop it, but Cooper didn't do 1 or other and just hoped the horse would get over the fence. Pretty poor.

Alelchi was coming with a strong run, I think if he popped it he would have lost.

A classic jockey panic fall. Jockey's hands completely different to every other jump.

If he fiddled it he'd have lost and got slaughtered with people saying he should've asked for a big jump so is forced to go long to give himself a chance of winning, Horse didn't pick up and you know the rest.
That's the game.

Because good punters always blame everything on the jockey. I don't know if he could have presented the horse better, I've never ridden a horse let alone jumped a fence on one, what I do know is popping would have given Alelchi the upper hand.

Cooper gave it great ride, needed a big one at last otherwise could well have got beat.

I lost 2 bets with the horse and my natural instinct would be to be critical of the jockey if I felt it was warranted. The horse was sticky at a couple of his fences. If Cooper steadied and popped the fence like some are suggesting he would have got beat as he would have lost 2 or 3 lengths plus momentum getting away from the fence. Cooper was correct in asking for a big one but horse missed it.

Anyone have the stats for last fence fallers for UK & Ireland as a comparison?

We see so may Irish chases come down to the final jump, and many of them spill.
