Paddy Power spokesman Paul Binfield said: "The very first bet that we laid at the meeting was a Canadian featuring five of Johnny's six runners and we've had the snowball effect since then which means that if the Curragh conjuror manages to pull it off, it will be a very costly evening at the East coast riviera venue!"
'Snowball effect' because 1 person placed a canadian? In other words somebody stuck a speculative bet on early and somebody else at PP has seen an oppo for publicity to attract money for horses that would not have been backed otherwise. It's pretty simple really - if one hears of these 'gambles' from the bookies early doors then they aint gonna happen! |
