because if it was, I don't think you would win a fortune

if it wasn't (i.e you followed the 'party line' and just took bets at the prices that are displayed on all the boards) then again I don't think you would win a fortune because of your capital outlay and expenses, (you would have some losing days btw)

there are plenty of green-up merchants out there that ensure they never have a losing day

depends what you call a decent wage, some do it for peanuts, others do it for a lot more
