Totally agree. Backed both horses and thought he gave Simple Verse a terrible ride. Would have won far easier with a decent jock on it. Similar ride in the last at Chelmsford. You ride stupid races like that getting caught on the inside stuck behind weakening horses and you're gonna lose more than you win that's for sure.....

They're not bang average at all and this place is always good for a laugh if ever you need one.

You don't become Champion Apprentice when riding 76 winners that season as Oisin Murphy did, if you are "bang average" considering that was more winners than Pat Eddery, Kevin Darley, Frankie Dettori, Seb Sanders and Ryan Moore rode when they won it and all later went on to be senior Champion Jockey too.

You also don't win 70-odd grade level races like Bryan Cooper has, including the Cheltenham Gold Cup if you are apparently bang average either.

The problem is you don`t understand race riding... a 21-year-old doing what he is doing is not common.... wait until he is older and stronger and wiser.... I doubt any of you would lower your stakes if you see his name riding the horse you fancy....

Regards to Cooper, I agree at times he is very in and out..... and it`s possible David Mullins might take over sooner than I may of thought??? Maybe..

You tell people they don't understand race riding when they have been critical of his rides but then by saying wait until he is wiser you are basically accepting there was a problem with the rides, despite also saying those criticising don't understand race riding.

Today there is far more racing than there was 20 years ago,with apprentices being wasted on low grade AW meetings where trainers are using their claims to land gambles on horses that are already well handicapped.

I dont know how many extra AW night meeting there are but  a high proportion of apprentices lose much on their claim on the AW,look at Josephine Gordon,this time next season she will be in the same boat as Robert Tart,Cam Hardie,just to name a couple,but there are a few others.

Regarding O Murphy he is very lucky to have such a high profile retainer,time and time again this season he has looked tactically retarded and its only been the sheer class of the horse that has got him out of trouble,also he has had trouble in settling his mounts on a number of occasions.

IMO O.M is only average at best and needs to up his game as there are a number of really good apprentices that are coming along really well.

He does plenty wrong and still able to ride well against the so called Pros`s out there... have u ever read about the 1% of so called pro`s that ride today.... u see he makes mistakes and still able to do well against the riders today... and what a of load of tosh most of them are who are riding many years more than him... now do u follow..
