Nobody is interested in your Rating's. This is only for your ego. If they were any good you wouldn't be wasting time trying to impress people on here. Just surprised ITV didn't hire you as their private handicapper for the switch on !

I think that soapy thingy has been watching for the last week waiting for me to draw a blank (check previous threads) . First meeting in a dozen or so and in with both barrels .
That said he may have a point , so I think I'll consider his suggestion and contact ITV Plain

Appreciated Chavman but if I can't top rate at least three 5/1 + winners on a seven or eight race card maybe I should consider giving up the ghost

im intrigued as to how you can generate a p+l when picking 3 or 4 horses in one race .

is it a combination bet system
By:
chavman
When: 08 Sep 16 21:00
surely the top rated horse is the selection.or do you take plaudits for a second rated winner.

im confused
By:

Its not a betting system . Its a Rating guide based purely on statistics . Ratings to be used in conjunction with ones own form study . Everybody has a different slant on how they analyse form but statistics are consistent .
At least , thats MY opinion Happy

so a 2nd rated 10/1 winner is a winnerConfused.

surely a daily mirror type SF,F,EW would be clearer

I don't seek plaudits . If I did this would be the last place to seek them . I do fully understand your comments and appreciate them but all I do is post Ratings and subsequently results for the top rated . I never have and never will advocate backing the top rated horse blind , without any form study whatsoever .
By quoting 2nd top rated winners all I am doing is highlighting the occasions that a horse with a high rating has been successful .

Once again thank you for your comments , whether positive or negative , they are all appreciated .

ps. I didn't come on last night crowing or blowing my own trumpet following the meeting at Kempton , nor do I come on after drawing a blank and defend my work with pitiful excuses . I do what I do and if you find it useful then you are welcome to view my work and feel free to ask questions if you wish . If you don't find them useful then you are welcome to ignore my ratings and view whatever thread or threads appeal to you . Either way I wish you the best of luck .

They're horse ratings, Chav, not the theory of relativity!

Let's take the 740 for an obvious example. The first and second t/r were three and two pounds clear of the third rated. Yet the third rated horse was carrying five pounds less than them two, so the obvious bet there was Eltham, which duly obliged at 14/1. It's all about deciphering them and making your own decision!

I would so like to claim that but unfortunately fillies allowances are already taken into consideration but if you backed Eltham based on your theory WD Cool

Amazing that you waited to post that  after the first five races, a nasty form of  aftertiming with your snide  & unnecessary comments.

Reynard I think people just want tipsters to put up one horse a race and that horse to win!!!
If it doesn't they want to moan about it
I'm afraid its a no win situation for you
I study the aw cards at chelmsford, lingfield and wolves in depth, lucky if I can find one good bet a meeting, what i can do is narrow it down to 2 or 3 a race and identify ones that might run well at a big price.
Some races, like the last one tonight I think are impossible, even though the fav won well in the end
I'd suggest people should use your ratings as a guide to help them in their own selections
I mail my thoughts to a few friends, they usually go for the value picks and seem to do ok
Must admit though we all have meetings like you've had today where things just don't go to plan, it happens, no one gets it right all the time.
Well done for putting up your ratings, ignore the haters if you can

What I would say regarding the 7.40 race is that there wasn't a lot to choose between the top 4 rated on the figures so it could be argued that the value lay with Eltham or Outrath but , again , that is purely a matter of opinion and opinions are , as they say , like a"""holes . We all have them .

"I don't seek plaudits . If I did this would be the last place to seek them".
Your certainly right about this place.
The wolves saw off Proted last week.

Ratings are useful but never perfect on their own imo.
As you said "Ratings to be used in conjunction with ones own form study" (and statistics study)

Mirror Spot and SF,F,EW have their place. As does Express Spot (which has higher win rate than Mirror)
Split Second for speed, and 10 year trends (or more).
Yes Stats do lie sometimes, but certain meetings can be advantageous.

Trends Park Hill
S.P 4/1 max (8/10): Win in last 3 runs (10/10): Age 3-4yo (9/10): and the bonus was Split second Top score. Mirror Spot also.
