The winner in any normal country with proper rules would be disqualified.
Report khyber kim August 29, 2016 12:51 PM BST
Agreed, ought to get the race but can't see it happening.

Report Kriskin August 29, 2016 12:52 PM BST
The rules in this country are a joke.  U can put a horse over the rails and still be allowed to keep a race.  It's like a win at all costs
Report ashleigh August 29, 2016 12:52 PM BST
stewards now.
Report Kriskin August 29, 2016 12:53 PM BST
The biggest nonsense of the lot is this so called winning distances debacle.

Would have already been thrown out in US before the Newcastle stewards called the enquiry
Report hulk23 August 29, 2016 12:53 PM BST
surprised to see 11k done at 1.01,  must have known a chance of stewards ...
Report Oceanfinance August 29, 2016 12:54 PM BST
They obviously looked at it before announcing it. Very poor just call one.

correct kriskin, the more you hamper a horse the further it is likely to be beaten

Surely one of the worst decisions in history. it was only closing because he was taking it easy on the winner.

Report Wesdag August 29, 2016 1:10 PM BST
The 2nd went as high as at least 65 in the stewards.

Staggering.
Report the dealer August 29, 2016 1:11 PM BST
i think it should have gone but under the rules they operate never in a month of sundays did i think it would be reversed
Report roida August 29, 2016 1:11 PM BST
im very suprised they chucked winner...

but..i said to lads in our room that 2nd was a neck down and its lost 2L and beat a closing 3/4L...
Report Tallywagger. August 29, 2016 1:11 PM BST
Wrong decision with our rules. I reckon they had ATR on and just wanted to get back at Chapman.
Report asparagus August 29, 2016 1:11 PM BST
To be honest the betting indicates what a ridiculous decision it was. A remarkable misinterpretation of the rules. No consistency.
Report Oceanfinance August 29, 2016 1:15 PM BST
The inconsistency is beyond a joke.
Report Mooono August 29, 2016 1:19 PM BST
They did the correct thing for once, shame they dont do it every time, most of the time they thing its greyhound racing rules
Report asparagus August 29, 2016 1:21 PM BST
It might be morally the right thing but under the rules it was clearly an appalling decision.

very strange just looked at stewards' report and it says 'no enquiry'.

Report Wesdag August 29, 2016 2:35 PM BST
The Stewards held an enquiry under Rule (B)11.6 into possible interference inside the final furlong. Having
heard their evidence and viewed recordings of the race they found that the winner, SINCIL BANK (USA),
ridden by Joe Fanning, had interfered with MUSHAIREB, placed second, ridden by David Nolan, and that
the interference had improved SINCIL BANK (USA)’s placing. The Stewards found that Fanning had
allowed his mount to drift left carrying MUSHAIREB across the track towards the rail causing Nolan to take
back when he was approximately half a length behind SINCIL BANK (USA). Following the interference
Nolan was approximately 1½ lengths down after having lost momentum and having to switch around to
renew his effort, then rallying to be beaten only ¾ a length in the short distance to the line. They placed
MUSHAIREB first, and SINCIL BANK (USA), second. The Stewards found Fanning in breach of Rule
(B)54.1 and guilty of careless riding in that he allowed his mount to drift left without correction. They
suspended him for 2 days as follows: Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 September 2016.

bookies have to payout twice this the problem there needs to be a delay of like 2 minutes of announcing the result so they wont have to pay out twicew
Report Kriskin August 29, 2016 9:40 PM BST
Just back in after being away for the day after that race today.  A very nice surprise to read this thread and to see my bank well up after laying the FPTP.  As stated earlier thought the FPTP should have been chucked out but didn't think the stewards would with the rules we have.
Report roida August 29, 2016 9:50 PM BST
so you didnt think it would be chucked but laid it?
Report hulk23 August 29, 2016 10:01 PM BST
the £11k 1.01 i/r was very odd given what had happened.

1.01 boys don't normally get involved with a good chance of a stewards.
Report roida August 29, 2016 10:08 PM BST
same happened few weeks back...blatanly obvious  was gona be stewards and was done at 1.01..ridic

roida - laying it at 1.05 and less was not a BIG risk. In my view it should have been chucked out but we know the stewards in this country

Report roida August 30, 2016 12:24 AM BST
would you lay tomorrow aint wednesday at 1/1,000.000 cos it aint a big risk?
Report Kriskin August 30, 2016 12:48 AM BST
roida - different ball game.  There was a slight chance FPTP should have been disqualified. In my view I would have chucked it out (Reason for laying) but as stated previous we know how the stewards operate in GB
Report guinness2dear August 30, 2016 12:59 AM BST
Well that aint guaranteed now , is it.

No interest today but the cucumber sarnie eaters have phucked it right up now, and i can tell you one person who will never bet in a SE again.

Report sageform August 30, 2016 7:55 AM BST
The biggest effect of intereference on a result yesterday was El Astronaute. I benefitted from a place only on Humidor who finished second but the interference meant that Hey Chewed and Huntsmans Close were denied at least second and third while Hey Chewed might well have won. So bets on at least 4 other runners were affected by the interference by the winner. If they had run straight, the result might well have been Hey Chewed, El Astronaut, Huntsmans close, Humidor. I know that horses don't run in straight lines, but that was an extreme example of a race being affected by illegal riding.
Report roida August 30, 2016 10:45 AM BST
98% follow the epsom camber...hardly illegal.
Report dyno-layer August 30, 2016 11:10 AM BST
The betting on the outcome of this stewards enquiry was remarkable.

The eventual winner was being laid at around 30 - 40 midway through the enquiry although obviously the longer it went on it did gradually shorten up.

Just b4 the announcement there was a massive move to back it at all rates down to around evens and i can only presume someone got the lot after knowing what the outcome of the enquiry was slightly b4 it became public knowledge.
Report roida August 30, 2016 11:22 AM BST
that is correct dyno...there is another thread where its discussed in full....the money was recovered from the hooverers.
