Lads do a Trap boost on trap 2 - 5/4 to 2/1. £25 max.
Go to collect:
£56.25
no its £75
No its £56.25 I didn't have time to check the price so its SP
No its 2/1 on the slip £75
No its £56.25 I didn't check the price.
Enter it as price at the time
No I cant do that.
Call customer services - Yes price was 2/1. They contact shop and tell me shop are refusing to pay out at 2/1, they contact area manager who refuses to pay out at 2/1. I have exhausted my options with lads and I should contact IBAS.
Could you make it up?

Seems that they make up and payout what they want, and hope you just disappear along with their ever shrinking customer base. Shocking firm but it really is no surprise anymore.
Report the dealer June 25, 2016 1:35 PM BST
are these boost for grid customers only?

According to some on here, shops not honouring prices written on slips is a fantasy and doesn't happen.

I stated on here why I stopped using shops due to them not honouring prices written on slips and gave the reason why I was told why it was happening, so if I posted up the reason I was told then it's not my reason. Are you familiar with the expression don't shoot the messenger the dealer?

I also said I wasn't that fussed in quibbling the finer detail and more my point was that it was actually happening regardless and was why I stopped using shops and then others posted saying they had experienced the same thing.

Happened to me in Fred's a few months ago, the dealer.  Threatened court and they paid at the price written on the slip by his employee.  I think the price had changed whilst the manager was a lunch and the bet wasn't put in the system when originally accepted.

I think the price had changed whilst the manager was a lunch and the bet wasn't put in the system when originally accepted.

it doesnt matter when the price is put in the system, it will always come up as the price available in the system when scanned in the till.

good of you do add your imput, i see your last post was weeks ago and also on a thread that ima started saying the same thing. i assume it was your golf bet or is this another one.

you may well have had a price issue that you got paid on but it certainly wasnt the reason you suggest.
Report Fatlad 1981 June 27, 2016 6:22 PM BST
I was due to get short paid on a horse last week because the price hadn't been put in on the system at the time and there were NR's so I wasn't sure exactly how much (R4's) but she checked and there was a big difference
She put the bet through again no problem with the price on and I was paid a couple of minutes later when it was checked the dealer is right

OK the dealer, I wasn't going to bother but seemingly this is more important to you than it is to me and I wouldn't want to see you disappointed. Happy

According to some on here, shops not honouring prices written on slips is a fantasy and doesn't happen.

Posts on the original thread supporting my experiences of getting prices written on the slip but not honoured included:

Happens to me all the time with staff at cor@l that don't know what they're doing.

Pythagoras    22 May 16 07:56
That's the whole point with Joke Orals and quite possibly others; the price written on your slip by the staff member is completely irrelevant, even if it has been PTL'd and accepted. Makes betting a farce.

Then other posts going against all of that or suggesting it wasn't happening included:

Sergeant Cecil    22 May 16 13:24
.....This is nonsense, it really is.  The price you get written on your slip is the price you get.

Utter guff Ima...

you hand a slip to person behind the counter and ask for a price, they quote you a price, you agree, they write price on slip, initial it and, in your own words are ' given my change '...

and

slickster    22 May 16 13:12
ima_mazed clearly should not be betting.

So like I said, according to some on here and it's not all about you the dealer and despite me later saying in the original thread:

ima_mazed66    22 May 16 20:31
.......OK fair enough, I'm not going to argue over the finer detail considering the main point and the very reason that this thread was created was due to somebody saying they would get a price written on their slip and then offered another at the time they wanted to collect.

You then come out in this thread with:

the dealer    27 Jun 16 08:00
deary dear Ima how the mighty have fallen, reduced to one line untrue jibes now because someone has the audacity to pull you up on what you were saying and tell you that you were wrong.

So exactly what part of "OK fair enough, I'm not going to argue over the finer detail considering the main point......" didn't you quite understand the first time, or were you too busy trying to point score to take in that part?
Report IanP June 27, 2016 6:29 PM BST
Yes, it was my golf bet.  Obviously I don't know the reason but they definitely tried to pay me out at a shorter price than had been put on the slip and which was clearly displayed on the screens.  Without doubt there was a delay in inputting the bet because the manager insisted she had input the bet but she wasn't there at anytime I was in the shop.  She was adamant that they weren't going to pay the correct amount but a letter to HQ and they paid straight away.

I've also recently won an IBAS case against Fred.

Ian like i said it doesnt matter if the bet wasnt touched for an hour , it is when the bet was taken that counts. well done on getting paid and good luck

Anyone who thinks they get the price at the time of translation needs their head examining. My local bookies might take 100 bets on a Saturday morning and translate them hours later. It goes without saying that if your horse was 20's when you struck bet, but only 10's when they get round to translating it, you're going to get paid at 20's (so long as you took the price).

No I'm sorry it doesn't help really, seeing as I stopped believing in fairy tales years ago. Er, HTH.

Amazing isn't it how some people are so keen to tell others that they are wrong and then suddenly "havent got a clue" and "dont give a sh1t" once it dawns on them that they were wrong?
