this is a huge mistake in my opinion, I believe Scotland leaving the UK is now inevitable at some stage, maybe wales and northern Ireland will follow, the right wing parties will come to power all over Europe and this will lead to an inevitable rise in nationalism, we already live in dangerous times, and a divided UK and a divided Europe will only make it more so, it was a 48 52 per cent outcome, the racists seem to have swung the vote which is what I feared, I don't believe everybody who voted out is racist but I do believe every racist who voted would have voted out, I hope I am wrong but I see dark days ahead

Seriously? Do you think everyone who is fed up with the immigration policies are racists? I am not racist at all, but am fed up with the lot of it. If immigration was sorted out years ago, I agree the result would have been different. But to class everyone as racist is a bit short sighted and pathetic really imo.

Apologies was not meant to come across as that, I just don't like "the racists have swung the vote", it's as if you think there millions of racists and that made the difference. There are not, there are millions who are fed up with people born here not being listened to, treated like we cannot say or do anything (for fear of being called racists), fed up with communities being overtaken and divided by immigration but are NOT allowed to speak up (for fear of being called racists), fed up with house being given away to people who have no intention of bringing anything to the country, fed up with the freaks that can freely hold placards wanting to kill all non muslims and want sharia law, fed up with an overrun NHS, schools, employment etc etc.

I have made what I believe to be a valid point, that is all, the country has spoken and decided to leave, I am a democrat and obviously I respect the decision, and of course everybody entitled to vote should have that right, where have I said anything to say that certain people shouldn't have been allowed to vote? that is ludicrous, we have narrowly voted to leave and I accept that decision and will get on with my life in my normal fashion, for better or for worse we are out, now we have to make the best of it

You can call the EDL/BNP etc racists, and of course they have hardline racists (I doubt anyone will disagree with that), but you also have to ask why these groups are flourishing. But they are allowed to vote, and if they shouldn't be allowed iyo, then nobody on the far left should be allowed either, where is the democracy in that?

daps, I don't think the placard holding freaks wanting to kill all non muslims and who want sharia law are here as a result of us being in the EU, my guess is most of them were either born here or emigrated here from non EU countries, as I said I have concerns about immigration myself, I don't believe people should come here and go straight to the top of the waiting list for property health and welfare, I don't believe any immigrant should be able to claim any sort of benefit in this country until they have worked and lived here for at least 5 years, I don't believe one family member should be able to come here and claim child benefit and send it back to their families in their homeland, I also believe we shouldn't send winter fuel payments to pensioners living in spain for example, the government are to blame for this, they should have made emigrating to this country far less attractive than it obviously is years ago, like I say I have concerns regarding immigration also, but I do not believe we needed to leave the EU to put a lot of these problems right

daps I will state for one last time as you do not seem to have understood my posts, I believe that anybody who was entitled to vote, including members of the EDL and the BNP, have every right to vote whichever way they choose

I think Nellie and saddo make valid points, this was offered so the tories could gain a majority and Cameron remain leader, I do not believe we should have been offered the referendum so soon, we should have tried to fix a lot of the problems that we have with the EU before offering the vote, if after trying to fix these problems and addressing the concerns people rightly have regarding immigration etc the electorate still wanted out, then fair enough, but I think we should have at least have tried to solve the problems first

I don't remember the exact figure, but the number of non EU immigrants into this country was over 200,000, and that was so called controlled immigration, I had an experience about 10 years ago when I went to see a cardiologist consultant, I could hardly understand a word he was saying and I had to keep asking him to repeat himself, he must of thought I was taking the mick, because he shouted at me to leave the room, in retrospect I should have complained, I am not a racist and genuinely did not understand what he was saying in general, he was Asian, so non EU I would imagine, I can understand why people have got angry and like I have said before governments have had plenty of time to address these issues, I believe a man in his position should be able to speak fluently the language of the country he is living and working in, and being very well paid for I would imagine
