It doesn't appear i'm logged in but when I click on a new part of the site I am. The price of the printed version is an absolute disgrace.

Why anyone would subscribe to the 'Holy Ghost' is a bit of a mystery given how good the ATR website is. I occasionally buy the over-priced print version for the festivals mainly out of nostalgia for the paper copy but am not a fan of any of the so-called experts - guessers all!

ATR is excellent for free but unfortunately i much prefer lay-out, appearance and particularly breeding info on RPost

Sorry to disagree but RP at around £150 a year is excellent value especially when you consider other form can cost £400 upwards.
Must confess to not using ATR enen though I am rgistered with them.
I suppose it is what you feel comfortable with.

Should point out that I only subscribe to the essential RP and agree with IHAL about the guessers

As a person who buys the paper copy every day, does the net version contain everything the paper does - and I do mean everything because there are plenty of little snippets I find invaluable..

£150 quid a year is hardly a fortune these days.
And that covers flat and jumps.

It's a bargain compared to what we had to pay for form with ratings in the days when everything was on paper.
Even the early days when they started putting the data on computers it was still pretty expensive compared with the situation we have now.

Lot more in the paper version Greenacres. Ignore the online boys on here who never read the paper!  One horrible grouse - they suddenly give you only two form lines instead of three on big days to accommodate all the bookies and tipsters.  This is sharp practice and reeks of Millington!

Only time it is slow which is usually about 5-10 seconds is when I'm on the stats but acceptable with alot of data to find.

Do you get pages and pages of stats in the newspaper daily?? Think I will stick to online version thanks.

------------

Not sure what your, "little snippets are" -  other than the likes of recently 'Gelded' indication on the newspaper racecards, which isn't on the website cards.... However 'Signposts' and the like ARE on the website, for subscribers.

It would be interesting if you could LIST your, "little snippets." - so that we can comment.

- along with those of jmdc's, "Lot more in the paper version" ... only if you do NOT subscribe to the Member's Section, presumably
.

Because for serious FORM STUDY the website simply HAS to outperform the newspaper version - assuming you are interested enough, and thus know how to use it properly, that is.

Their is a myriad of important data on the website - which isn't in the newspaper - for example, the paper only has last 3 outings of Form (if you are lucky, too, for some minor meetings on busy days) - whereas the website has FULL Lifetime form for each horse.

As has been pointed out by duncan (above) - If you are interested in, and also incorporate Breeding analysis into your study, then racingpost.com is the all in one facility to use.

In response to ihal essex - As has also been pointed out by robin (above) - you ONLY need the ESSENTIAL subscription to racingpost.com.

That way you do NOT have access to 'Tipping' and, "the so-called experts - guessers all," (selections) ... So you are left to make up your own mind, from your OWN Form Study - without outside influence or hindrance.

Onlooker, you've answered your own question.  Of course there is much more data online.  But to study a race quickly I like to use the paper data and back it up online (Essential like you). Speed is the essence, which you will not totally get online.
