How much for the Salmonella sauce?

Rip off? The double cheeseburger sounds like value to me. Not only does it save you a £, you also get the cheese thrown in!

£3.50p for a sausage roll seems reasonable

NO ICE CREAM VAN IN TATTS

Uttoxeter Bet to b in place shortly and a similar arrangement at every UK Racecourse then the Rip off will be complete

Speaking of being ripped off @ Chester.
Remember going on a stag do to Chester one satday in 80S. Beer goggles on from 9am so plenty down us by time we got to track. Had a "tip" for one in 1st race @ Lingfield (Lord huntinghams ..fto) We were in the Dee stand, went up to the kid betting on the aways asked for SP, REFUSED POINT BLANK so had our bet of a ton on his "show" 9/4. Result won SP 9/2 ..Was that bad we just pi$$ed our sides. BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS Facty |
|
By:
YEP I REMEMBER THE FIRM WELL THAT BET ON THE AWAYS IN THE DEE(FROM YORKSHIRE
) THE FUNNY THING IS THAT THE SP MIGHT HAVE BEEN 9/2 BUT YOU PROBABLY COULD HAVE HAD 6/1 IN THE RING ![]() ![]() ![]() |
|
By:
did it not used to be the rule you could ask for ask for sp up to 5 minutes before the off time
|
|
By:
exactly as you say mr crisp.
but how could the bookmaker take that bet...£100 at 9/2 in the dee ring in the 1980's does show how good away betting was in those days , though |
|
By:
"HOW COULD THE BOOKMAKER TAKE THAT BET 100 @ 9/2 IN THE 1980s" ARE YOU SERIOUS?????? PUNTERS WERE HAVING £500 ON IN ONE HAND AT THE GREYHOUND STADIUM DOWN THE ROAD FROM THE RACECTRACK IN QUESTION AT THE SAME TIME

cheeseburger at macdonalds 99p and they make a profit..£9 for double cheesebuger is simply legalised robbery.
|
|
By:
Same as buying popcorn for about four quid at the cinema. Be no more cinemas and no more racecourses if they can't make money.
|

YEP SAME AS CHARGING AN AVERAGE OF £60 TO WATCH A PREMIER LEAGUE FOOTBALL GAME,BE NO MORE FOOTBALL IF THEY CANT MAKE MONEY

I'd worry more about your own business than their's to be honest. Same price on every board is a massive turn off.

Eat before you go or eat elsewhere.
Job done. |

By:
Exactly. Or accept you pay more at a venue. Otherwise don't complain when tracks close.

|
By:
I think most people can last five hours without eating. I do it every night!
I used to go to Uttox quite a lot. We'd stop off for breakfast/lunch on our way there, the stop off for a meal on the way home. |

good morning jm
obviously been out had a few to get himself fired up to make such a suggestion i wonder how long it had took him to come up with such a classic. |
|
By:
Morning Foxy, sounds like it. Looking forward to the match tonight?
|
|
By:
i still watch football jm nowhere near as much as i use to and i would no longer plan my day around a football match, the european cup final and the world cup are still two events i look forward to,the way the fa cup has been treated is disgraceful premier league games taking place on cup final day is very poor.regarding tonights game i shall probably watch it and even though i am from the other side of manchester i still would like to see city progress for the sake of the manager.

Yep, eating elswhere is the way when going racing, EXCEPT, perhaps, at places like Chester, where, in my guess, at least 80% of those "luxury diners" we see in that restaurant place that has further encroached on viewing space
are on a "freebie", ie somebody else is paying. 'Tis all a fiddle, imo. |
