Had a lucky 15 (£1 e.w.) with Betfred at the beginning of the Cheltenham. One horse for each day.  Two had been placed  (15/2 and 16/1) running on to Starchitect (12/1) on Friday.  Starchitect finished fifth with Betfred paying on the first 5.  However, they won't pay out on Starchitect saying the bet was ante-post.  Apparently any bet struck 24 hours in advance is classed as ante-post.

When I struck the bet (Tuesday) I can't remember seeing on the screen that I was betting ante-post prices.  There was no way I would have had this ante-post due to the possibility of non -runners.

Any thoughts/advice?

I think if it's before the final declarations its Ante Post, they are the day before (Thursday) so that would mean you lose out.

All offers   Best odds  extra places  etc only count  for bets placed after 6 pm the night before so settlement correct.was well advertised.

Thanks for that KG.  Sticks in the gullet though when I used the firm for the offers they were giving out (though I never knew they would pay out 5 places) I put the bet on in good faith as a lucky 15 .... not as an ante-post bet.

Bad luck. I backed the horse too. Got shuffled back before staying on strongly to get 5th, worth another chance I think.
