We're a small country and consistently punch above our weight in the sporting world.  Much of that is due to creativity and the enthusiasm of the English to 'have a go'.  Victoria Pendleton and the challenge itself are prime examples of those two factors.

If 'English' is a disease, then the world would benefit from a pandemic of it.
