this happened last year

getting about 10 seconds response when backing or laying in running...add that on to the small delay in getting pictures and that amounts to about 2 furlongs

The last few weeks work on the website was specifically to prevent overload at Cheltenham too.

Gives you little confidence in the website really.

@BetfairCS any chance of an update on today's debacle reply  The API issues are currently being investigated. Unfortunately we don't have any further update as yet.

this is a p!sstake. something very very stinky going on. I put a bet in IR at 3.00 by the time it went into the market the price had drifted on the runner to 4.00 but my price was 3.00?????? sick to death of being mugged by BF. job for IBAS that imo

there is some kind of entity running in the background on here, maybe Betfair are trialling a new skimming bot or cross matching algorithm bot, I too got matched much lower than the price it was when the bet was finally confirmed, a bad smell coming out of the Betfair HQ today

It is not just the API -

MAIN SITE taking 3 or 4 seconds to place a bet, too.

nuthouse, I don't know what the reason behind it is , but betfair no longer update its customers when there are problems .

I think its just inconstant. I see red numbers come up on my gruss to indicate prices that I have a stake unmatched at and the prices move while the bets goes in and then the colour changes late.

This is the point of third party overseers of anything involving money surely?
Its not for betfair to mark their own homework on all these issues.

it is a complete joke that we have to alert them to these issues, have they nothing in place to monitor site performance ?

If the prices refresh as usual and everyone is delayed the same for bets getting processed then whatever the price you click on should still be the price you get just that it shows up later.

If thats not the case then its because not everyone is being delayed the same......which the massive variation in time of bets processed would support.
Some bets go in within 2 seconds others take more than 5......so why is it still left up?

But wtf are Betfair doing?? 3 hours ago they said "Hopefully it’ll be sorted in no time."

Since then no updates, no improvement, nothing..

Just an observation thinking that the problem might be fixed.

Now up waiting for the Aussie racing to start.

seems like it has been fixed .

would be good if betfair updated their thread though .

Or more to the point gave some reassurance as to what the problem was and that it won't reoccur.
