42.5 Subject to Rule (F)143, no Rider may weigh out if he will be carrying 4lbs or more overweight.
And (F)143 won't apply as that's all about allowances for apprentices etc.
Maybe he failed on this rule:42.5 Subject to Rule (F)143, no Rider may weigh out if he will be carrying 4lbs or more overweight. And (F)143 won't apply as that's all about allowances for apprentices etc.
He rode Showboating at 9-3 w/o putting up o/w so would have put up 4lb o/w at most on geeaitch so can't be that reason unless he ate some cream cakes between races! My thoughts are that if a jockey is very likely to put up more than a couple of pounds o/w then surely he should inform the trainer when booked to ride and someone slimmer could be booked. Obviously not a detraction having SDS instead just thought that as RW had won on him twice may have been a significant booking.

Interestingly on that day with Geeaitch carrying 9-2, Winston again rode Showboating earlier on the card at 9-4 so would have only put up 2lb o/w at most! If Ivory just wants as little weight as possible should get a 5/7 lb claimer on it!
