P J F Murphy trains the favourite.  Never heard of him, had about 2 winners in 5 years and first runner in England.

Favourite is 0/23 maiden and 7/2 here.   Go figure?

How was this a fix? Murphy could not win on the Irish AW with this nag. He spotted an awful race in the the UK, travelled over and won his race. I don't understand your angst; it must have been obvious that he at least did not have a non jigger.

the races this maiden was placed in at dundalk was as good a form as was on offer here to be fair

Ah no, the mare was racing in 47-65 4000 quid or more to the winner. Today's effort was a 45/50, 2900 quid affair.
