Show needs a complete re-vamp, biggest day of the jumps season so far and after 50 mins they've only previewed 2 races, very poor.

short preview of a race tomorrow (SDG v SS), a keighley family item, mattie and his speech issue...i watched with sound off mostly but did they even mention the best race outside of he KG, the novice at Leopardstown?  only bright spot was no cunningham

I too thought it started at 9am, why did they change the new start time ?

Very ordinary fayre I'm afraid - if this is really the best they can offer then its shelf life is very limited

The Freeview channel Channel 4+1 show it between 9:00 and 10:00.

Was worse this week than last week, somehow.

They will persist with seagull perhaps one day he will get a winner on the morning line his record when he is on is abysmal

Channel 4 are getting it wrong entirely.

Racing is slowly dying and the gravy trainers are carrying on regardless. Sad.

I think basically punters are turned off watching privileged horsey people on the telly who always seem to be enjoying themselves.

They way they discuss form as though they are experts grates as well.
Along with the way they refuse to admit there is any form of fiddling going on, which reminds me of how the connections of wrestling used to stonewall against any hint of wrestling matches not being genuine contests.

I was rather disappointed that they didn't ask Batchelor if he thought Paul John had been hard done by...

racing,lords and highbury nothing like sport at its grass roots,wonder if he had a dodgey prawn, reminds me of when i felt physicaly sick at reading about cameron ,osbourne etc paying 3,500 for a bottle of champagne and 150 for a glass of redwine at their xmas do,sickening

They're a different class of people to the ordinary punter.

The Batchelor item was cringeworthy, yeah we get it not being able tp pronounce r's is hilarious ... maybe when performed by someone who is funny.

Maybe could have done an item on the different ways you can part from a horse without landing on your head instead.

Even asking him about the horse he rode for half its career, Coneygree to get an insight into the Gold Cup winners development and frailties? Or is this giving too much information away to a dumb public?

The viewer does want entertainment, ideally related to horses and betting on them. The 4/1 for Vautour is a good offer well done to bookies for that provided you are allowed a decent amount on.

years ago I watched the morning line nearly every week but its dire 9 weeks out of 10 now and I didn't even bother with it this morning

Totally needs to be looked at waste of time to watch

your always going to get the shoite because they go over 2 races tops which leaves 40 mins to fill in with all the garbage,bit like the golf on sky going through the same players swings in slow motion for the past 20 years, when basical your average golf fan cant tell the difference between 99% of them

You lot are harsh,we get to see The Wullie Mullins Superstars on the track and we can hear the views of the Greatest Jockey of all time A.P...The King George got plenty of coverage....Fair enough Wocket Woy is cringe worthy but on the whole it is very good imho.

I thought it was very constructive, loved the sledge aka wheelbarrow with Matt at the reins, must have brought back so many memories of riding no hoppers. Saying that, he put more effort in his short un-funny comedy sketch than the whole of Morning Line programme.

It has detriorated massively,Batchelor is juvenile and a joke but not in the manner they hoped for. Too little race analysis and far too much time on trivia trying to attract the gymkhana type viewer to widen advertising appeal whilst losing the core viewers.

Agree, but that's racing all over, they've forgotten about the people who watched 10/20 years ago, whilst trying to attract new people, of which they are failing

They should have it on at 6am or earlier and that would be fine by me

Fair point dambuster,it is puerile now and despite calling anyone on here knocking it the viewing figures are beyond dispute.

i use to love it, never missed a programme with the old team, i started watching it when the new team started, then couldn't be bothered, i put it on c4+1 and as soon as the Mattie Thing started, i really cringed and put sky sports news on...its absolute dross, which is a shame, because with a step backwards towards the old format , i'm sure it could be successful again.

Gave up on the morning line a long while ago.

It's an outdated concept with very degraded content and to be frank an extra hour's sleep is far more beneficial on a Saturday imo. 

Should scrap it and try something different....like a Monday night (say 11pm) review program for 45 minutes...could do 35 minutes of shortened replays with post race interviews & analysis with 10 minutes of Sunday Forum style chit chat / Preview of the week ahead....within that 10 minutes you can have a 1 minute weather forecast of the week.

Could then have special ML editions for Cheltenham (4 days), Derby and Grand National but 30 minutes MAX.   

Gina & Graham can handle ALL of this on their own.

The bit that I look forward to is the section where they talk about where the money is going. That bit is more useful that anything else on that programme!

Trite and banal programme. C4's equivalent of the One Show

wasnt david redvers recently critical of channel 4s coverage of racing which surely incorporates TML.herein lies the problem where you have major racing sponsors trying to dictate editorial content and they are only one amongst many that the coverage is under pressure to appease-a case of you cant please everyone.

Nothing could be as banal as the insufferable "The One Show"... listening to a Mick Fitzgerald monologue would even be preferable,Facts.

Like most TV sport programmes, it only caters for people who are half interested in racing. They are the only ones who get looked after. People who need a few jokes thrown in, as if the racing isn't enough. Question Of Sport viewers mainly. Anyone who has a serious interest in any sport is ignored by TV (except football, of course)
