I got the impression - from other similar postings - re:Spain, Germany, etc - that you could still access the Forum - and the Sportsbook (at least in Spain, anyway)... But NOT the EXCHANGE.

As the Forum is on a separate server it can be accessed via community.betfair.com - whether you can log-in, in order to post, is another matter.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And days o’ lang syne!

Chorus:
For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne,
We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syne!

We twa hae run about the braes,
And pu’d the gowans fine,
But we’ve wander’d mony a weary foot
Sin’ auld lang syne.

We twa hae paidl’t in the burn
Frae morning sun till dine,
But seas between us braid hae roar’d
Sin’ auld lang syne.

And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere,
And gie’s a hand o’ thine,
And we’ll tak a right guid willie-waught
For auld lang syne!

And surely ye’ll be your pint’ stoup,
And surely I’ll be mine!
And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syne!

Get an account set up by a mate in a jurisdiction you can bet from. Get him to do deposits/withdrawals for you. Use a VPN to use Betfair in this account as normal, appearing to login from a jurisdiction you can bet from.

You can download a programme called Hola, link below, it means you can change the location of your server to circumvent stuff like this. So if you change the location of your server from Canada to the UK then you should be able to access any UK site, like this one. Out of curiosity why is Betfair now banned in Canada? Have the new government there outlawed gambling?

I'm in the same position as Red and others...13 years and then gone..good job I don't rely on it for a living I guess.Befair say its purely a Business decision with no International Legality involved.
I gather the other exchanges are the same except Smarkets.
Any advice welcome where you could Bet/lay on the Horses and Soccer from here.

the VPN proxy server thing wouldn't help me do deposits and withdrawals. My UK bank account is registered at my Canadian address.
I dont know why they are closing down Canada.  The laws haven't changed here. Many bookies eg PP, Boyles, Fred, Hills stopped doing business with Canadian punters about 6 years ago,
I will probably end up being restricted to betting on NHL, NFL and NBA through dodger booked based in the West Indies.

Oh well just think of all the extra cash I will have available to me after Jan 14. :-)
