Yet again Chelmsford they hold the horses up, after about the 4th race they realise they can't be off the pace.............happens every race meeting at Chelmsford.

Awful racecourse along with Southwell that should be closed down

its not the racecourse making them hold horses up. Baker in the first and Fox in the second, around the 4th race they will understand it.

They can't all front run,so some have to be at the back

Whilst far from being a fan of the majority of the dwarfs -

It's Not so simple, or straightforward, though - otherwise, EVERY horse in EVERY race would be 'making the running' ... That, of course, being an impossibility - and we would all, THEORETICALLY therefore, be backing every winner of every race.

If they are riding a PROVEN 'hold up' horse - then trying to make the running on it will probably end up in it being beaten even further.

They are not motorbikes - Every horse has it's own profile, and often, preferred running style, in order to TRY and attain it's optimum performance.

In around 90% of racehorses - such an optimum performance is STILL NOT ENOUGH, though, to win any race.

Lot of assumptive, and presumptive, verbiage continually spoken about - 'best part of the track, 'Golden Highway'. MUST be down the middle' etc etc.

Mostly by people who are incapable of studying Form, properly, and consequently assimilating and building up horses profiles.

onlooker most front runners at chelmsford win, not all but it usually works out well if you race with the pace at chelmsford

so you would need to be closer to the pace at chelmsford, not 2 furlongs back.
