Sometimes he has a dip in form when they have their flu jabs?
By:
That's very true but since 3rd December 1/42 up to Old Guards run and losers since. Need to factor in when having a punt
By:
he does his flu jabs in july and january

By:

By:
Thanx for that - any ideas why the sudden drop off in form?
By:

no idea but I'm sure nicholls will get to the bottom of it,lets hope sooner rather than later.

I'm sure he will as well - looked a very relieved man after the international - especially as Fry and Skelton have been knocking in the winners this month

(Supposedly) great with the media. Is it possible someone could test that theory out? All very well sounding half pleasant when you are getting a few winners.
Placement of horses open to question - horse in last today apparently described as a stayer so why send him all the way up to Catterick for a bumper? I suspect plenty of those horses that have been transferred to him and gambled on want better ground. Of course it doesn't help when your jock's confidence is shot to pieces. |

Begs the question though, how good is Old Guard if he can win so impressively when the stable is so completely out of form ?
By:
Old Guard will be beat from here to Honolulu when he steps in to the top grade, thats how good he is.
By:
nicholls has problems that's for sure, he was talking up his bumper horse today saying they were looking for a listed race for it? but don't forget the horses std fell off would of won?

, Hono-bleed'n-lulu ?, We'll see. The last horse I saw progressing like Old Guard was Rooster Booster. Mind you, I was wrong once before. |

Race 4 - 1:45pm THE GO RACING IN YORKSHIRE WINTER FESTIVAL NOVICES' HURDLE RACE (CLASS 4)
No Stewards Enquiry. The representative of Paul Nicholls, the trainer of ROB ROBIN (IRE), unplaced, reported that the gelding 'scoped dirty' post race. The Stewards considered the running of WARRIORS TALE, ridden by Sam Twiston-Davies and trained by Paul Nicholls, which was pulled up. They noted the explanation of the trainer's representative that the gelding had 'scoped dirty' post race. |

Yeah, but Old Guard hasn't got Intersky Falcon and Copeland to beat has he and to be fair, Rooster Booster was a good bit classier than Old Guard.![]() |
