I've said this before soapologies but I just can't not say this. I could hardly drive the car back because I was so annoyed. Thommo, yet again, has completely ruined a day's racing with his performance over the PA system. If anyone on here was there, please let me know what you thought. The bloke just spouted ****g crap for nearly 4 hours without drawing breath. Asking people what they are having for their dinner, telling Dan Skelton that his dad is "over there, look", telling the jockeys to mount as if he's giving instructions, patronising the (female) clerk of the course within an inch of her life, telling people to be in a group photo after the race when they are clearly trying to get away from him. And calling people big fella a thousand times. I have honestly only scratched the surface. How the bloke doesn't get the crap beaten out of him is a miracle. I am honestly wary of going racing again unless I know for sure he won't be there. He did exactly the same thing at Chelmsford when I was there last month. He is RUINING a day out for thousands of people.

We all detest him.

But the courses love him for his banter with the once a year race goers, more interested in drinking and the day out.

He has stopped me going racing more times than I care to remember when I know he will be the course commentator.

He did pass the bucket around. He informed racegoers that if they put losing slips into it, there would be a prize draw etc etc  I lost count when he said it for the 20th time. He wasn't actually commentating, he was just doing the PA. It's actually worse because he never shuts up.

" hi big fella, what's your name. Aye up, he's eating crisps. Can I have one. Cheese and onion are my favourite. Who likes crisps ? Yeah, we all do. Mustn't spoil my dinner though. Tell me, big fella ... wait a minute, who's this with you ? Are you his dad ? Awww, isn't it nice to see families going racing. Is anyone here with their family ? Oops, don't tell the missus.......

and so on. For 4 hours. Non stop. Embarrassing was not the word.

Sorry, forgot about Market Rasen.

Thinking of putting together a list of courses who won't have him and therefore safe to go.

The man is a cretin of the highest order. I'd expect better of a Jockey Club racecourse.

I wonder if there is actually anybody who has been influenced to go to a race meeting simply because he is in attendance ?

Believe me, 3 hours of the Tommo Show is one of the most horrific experiences you could ever endure and it now seems that he's using these occasions to gather names of unsuspecting people for his various tipping & bloodstock purchase schemes.

E mail tend course with your observations. It has worked at one or two tracks where sufficient adverse feedback has caused them not to re book the ****.

Doing nothing will tacitly give them the green light to engage him again and inflict more misery on racegoers. You wouldn't want that on your conscience ...

He was at the Musselburgh meeting I went to at the end of September. Was over an hour until racing started so went into the restaurant for a bite to eat and a few drinks - was either that or stay outside listening to his voice echoing around the place. Had only been sitting down 5 minutes and in he came interviewing people who are trying to eat their food ... the man defines a wage thief!

symptomatic of the times i much regret...Raccourses have become a circus act..racing is a side show..PA NON STOP..YOU WILLHAVE A GOOD TIME WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT and we do that by shouting and spewing inappropriate music at you...the worst i heard was at Ascot where They had a 'hearbeat' countdown before the tapes went up to artifically induce extra tension..how deeply desperate can you get...sad mad bad....and as for Thommo...

Deliberatley swerved Sedgefield last week cos new he would be there, best one have heard him say "all come accros and join us over here" to the "Course" customers at York inviting them over to a rammed Grandstand free of charge, if they had all taken him up on his offer would have been grosley overcrowded, but as a previous poster said the courses love him, answer is Ladies days, Family days, Arc tracks all to be avoided cos theres a good chance him and his "act" will be there
