its a great race as it is thank you.
do you not think cheltenham has enough handicap chases ? |
|
By:
If the prize money is good you will still see good horses taking part and u could get to see some great weight carrying performances in winning and brave defeats. It could be a great handicap.Horses that are not quite good enough for champ chase or gold cup racing for the good prize money rather than making up the numbers but if its a handicap you could see some great races.

fondmort, our vic, imperial commander, albertas run and cue card hardly make the numbers up

Ok imperial commander was good enough to win the gold cup but the rest were no where near good enough to win a champion chase or a gold cup.The ryanair is only a consolation race for horses that are not fast enough or don't stay 3m2f simple. Its adds nothing to cheltenham.

We already have a handicap over the distance later the same day and the Ryanair is a far better race.

no where near good enough to win a gold cup cue card hasnt finished yet, i do however see partly what you are saying regarding the champion chase/gold cup i often wonder if the ryan air was around in 89 would we ever have heard sir peters calling home dessie in the gold cup. |

Personally think last winner would have won the Champion chase had he been entered there instead.
Uxizandre was extremely impressive and jumping like that would have beaten Dodging Bullets imo. Ryanair is a good race now, leave it alone I reckon. |
