That's how you should go into the last when running all other rivals, by moving into a lead with a few lengths buffer so that if you fluff the final obstacle it won't be as crucial as sitting with a double-handful and not going on, so jumping only upsides or behind a less well travelling rival.
On a side note, I'd imagine not too much notice will be taken of the tailed off Rooney runner moved from Donald McCain's yard having its first run for its new trainer, seeing as that wouldn't suit some people's argument. |

Ima, impossible to judge the argument on a handful of runners. Also when we have a large enough sample, there are so many other factors that will skew the argument one wat or another.
Certainly one of Rooney horses I was most looking forward to from the McCain stable has switched the Oliver Sherwood and runs at Aintree on Saturday. I hope for all converns it turned out to be a good one. |
