Despite the abject failure of our Football and Rugby teams in world competitions, the UK continues to win world titles at individual sports. The Davis Cup is technically a team event but we know that it was the single mindedness and ability of Andy Murray that won it while Lewis Hamilton and Tyson Fury are world champs as are Mo Farah, Jess Ennis and Greg Rutherford and several rowers. Rory Mcillroy is the leading European golfer and may well get back to No 1 in the world. Why do we bother with team sports?

I would just like to point out that Mo Farah is infact a Somalian who resides in the USA so as to avoid paying tax in Britain.

we have a very good rugby union team but one that took the eye of the ball with to many side shows on the build up to the world cup,something clive woodward and martin johnson would never have stood for.
