So it's the jockey's fault but the last line is "cannot train a horse."

He is sure to have targeted the first race at Bangor today, a race in memory of his father.

Considering what he has already achieved in the sport, I think it amounts to a bit more than 15 minutes.

His one really should be winning the 3.15 at Newcastle....but can he be trusted to have the horse spot on for the race? Confused

No surprise how it ran. Not backed one from his stable in a very long time and won't be in the near future. Gone at the game.

Exactly and it just seems some people seem to relish and gain some twisted kind of enjoyment in kicking others when they are down.

I suppose if it makes them feel a little less inadequate about themselves though, it must serve a purpose I suppose.

I don't think it's a question of kicking a man while he's down. It's more a question of trying to fathom what's gone wrong, how long the slump will last, how much worse will it get and what will trigger a recovery in McCain's fortunes.

Most trainers experience periodic ups and downs but McCain was riding high not so long ago and with Tim Leslie and the Rooneys on board there was talk of him pressing Nicholls and Chemical Nicky for the trainers title. The extent and duration of the McCain slump is the trigger for so much debate on the subject on the forum.

The reason for the downturn is the horses are 5hite. Look at tomorrows 2:20 at Carlisle. He runs a nag called Freddies Portrait.

Freddies Portrait wouldn't be allowed within 50k of any half decent stable. His stable is loaded with these D rate P2Pers

That horse isn't all that bad. It's a staying chaser on pedigree and some of his point form reads OK.
I doubt it will win tomorrow though.

Great post by Cash is king. I actually like Don, he's always come across as a decent chap. Its just baffling the decline of his stable and how he now struggles to win even egg & spoon races with what look like promising horses? For example that horse in the last at Newcastle looked a horse with massive potential and it simply went out like a light bulb being switched off. If I owned that horse I'b be absolutely livid with that display!
