I can spend hours watching some of the old national hunt racing on youtube.   Many thanks to espmadrid who has a massive archive of great races.

Some amazing footage, the carnage in the selling hurdle, great Cheltenham memories, etc

One of may favourite horses was Mole Board and his last race epitomises everyone I love about NH racing.   Mick Fitz in the saddle, went from couldn't win to couldn't lose to .... even GG was fooled.

Anyone have any favourite races worth a watch???

Without even looking IS, I was at Uni then and remember the race so well, never seen anything like it, there is a Japanese race on youtube with a horse winning from an impossible position.

One of our favs, Top Gamble out tomorrow.  First run was too bad to be true and even though stable in form, not sure what the long term plan is or what to expect tomorrow.

Just watched the Mole Board video, didnt realise he went out winning Cool thanks for that.

We are backing him tomorrow, he is a 160 horse when the ground is right, I do rather fancy the bottom won but then again you aint going to get rich guessing he is going to win.

I dont think they can have long term view with this horse, ground and point imo.

If he won tomorrow................

IS that is the thing... he don't go out on a winCry  Still pains me how he lost that day, did he pull up? did MF think he had it won?

I cannot resist backing him and hope he gets a soft lead

Slightly before my time Koi, so don't remember it first time but great race, what I see is the stiffness of the fences in those days, solid birch with very little give.

Yours may have been 20/1 in running

This is the video I usually post on threads like this.

John Hughes Trophy 1998 - won by Cyfor Malta Love Love Love

Perfection from horse and jockey. They make it look like a walk in the park.

The dealer - Kalanisi's debut was even more surprising than Windsor - It was at Folkestone!

I love to watch the great Golden Cygnet (best hurdler ever imo), and anyone who is undecided about the best Derby winner there has ever been, have another look at the performance of Troy. What's great about YouTube is that it gives us all the opportunity to actually look down memory lane whenever we wish..
