I was 21 then - first ever race meeting - with mate who was celebrating his 21st - his dad got free tickets - he was gamekeeper for Lord Sefton. We pretended we backed the winner and got some mug to buy us free Champagne in champagne lounge. Recall that it was a Jumps/flat meeting then and remember bumping into Clement Freud in the betting ring. The most pi$$ed Ive ever been
