But those going stick figures are the lowest (i.e. softest) ever reported, going back eight years. On this day a year ago, the chase course was given as 5.7 and the official going was soft. The race times supported that as all three chases took more than 30 seconds above standard.
So I'm wondering how 4.5 can translate to good to soft? Has Kirkland Tellwrong been transferred?

whatever it is today it is likely to be softer by Saturday if the weather forecast is right.
Don't see where their could be any good on the hurdles or chase course from the first race.
Bizarrely, this mornings update now gives the going stick figure as 4.2 for both hurdles and chases. So since the start of the meeting, the hurdle course has dried out and the chase course has got softer!
