Erm GEORGE lad, I should point out that I never give tips on the forum but sometimes share my views. GL for the day. |

stewarty LAD, your post starts off sounding like a lump on job for the fav - horse's name in title then "and ticks all the right boxes" in the opening line. Oh and an odds-on shot is gonna give you a run for money?
But hang on, something had to finish 2nd in those races. So tell ya what, we'll do CSFs instead. And we end up going from "ticks all the right boxes for me" to "not a race to get too heavily involved in"! Thanks for sharing your views and good luck! |

If you go through Stephanie Frances and the favourite's races against The New One over hurdles and do the maths, if taken literally the odds on favourite has 3/4 of a STONE to find with the woman horse.
Yes this is a chase race and Henderson thinks his puppy was made for chasing, but based on their performances against The New One over hurdles a turnaround of 3/4 of a STONE is a big ask. Stephanie Frances may have been affected by the mishap (clipped heels, fell) in her last race of course, but if it comes down to these two at the business end of the race and she's alongside the on the odds on favourite you need to start sweating as Stephanie Frances does have a turn of foot. Her official BHA ratings over hurdles are probably deceptive as she won most of her races toying on the bridle with her jockey showing off so nobody knew how fast she was until she scared the hell out of The New One and flew like an aeroplane to the finish line when they battled each other. Even the commentators were like "wow, what a mare, what a mare, that was some performance by her" after the race. Qewy has a chance for sure and was only 4 lengths last against two decent chasers last time out despite a lot of rubbish jumping, I read in the Racing Post commentary that he'll need to brush up his jumping to stand a chance well not really... he'll have a better chance if he stops messing about being a troll and jumps properly for sure, but winning isn't out of the equation even if he's still up to his attention seeking antics (poor jumping). All in all I'd avoid this race, the spoilt brat (Vaniteux) might win, and yes he is spoiled by Nicky Henderson as he kept coming second second second finding one too good last season over hurdles yet his trainer forgave him for messing about and said he'd perform better over fences. Stephanie Frances might win depending on how her fall last time out has affected her, she may have lost confidence in which case she'll lose, or she may feel like an angry wife who's planning to divorce her husband who cheated on her and take half his money, in which case she's got a great chance. The troll Qewy might win too, he'll have a better chance if he stops messing about and jumps the fences properly. It's possible, boy racers often start driving properly a few months after passing their test and cut out their antics after the attention seeking novelty of driving like a clown wears off. There's money for Regal Encore, it ran like a toad on its first two outings over the fences, either it's mug money going on or this horse has blossomed into a prince. Or been gelded. I'm not sure what Cousin Khee is doing in this race, the grass has more chance of winning than this horse. |

I'm too much of a cowardly custard to get involved with novice chasers, but the fav looks a standout on hurdles form imo.
As for the forcast, it looks a choice between Qewy and Stephanie Frances. I agree with duffy about the JP horse and Cousin Khee looks up against it if hurdles ratings are any guide. But it's all stating the bleedin' obvious, so as zipper might say, that's me out! |

Thought I had cancelled when it went 1.59 pre-off. It won well but that's 600+ I didn't except and that's the God's honest truth.

FWIW, I think Stephanie Frances and Qewy are both decent yardsticks and he killed them. Definite 150+ performer already. Douvan watch out.

Not sure it was you but it was a stewart of some nature, way back in the Charlie hall 2003, made a book and put all your prices up in the market when it opened but got Valley Henry all wrong (right as it turned out) and stuck money at double figure odds that got instantly gobbled up, he went off 4/5 and fell...what that stewart you? |
|
By:
No duffy, that wasn't me but in my first month on here I laid a beast on here four times at approx. 9/4. Being clueless at the time I thought when it came back 'unmatched' I kept on laying it, not knowing how the system worked. Cost me nearly 3.7 K and burnt my fingers badly.
All calls to BF were a waste of time and I had to take it on the chin. |
