E.W. bet Closing Ceremony 14-1 generally, use a BOG form.
Tomorrow 16 stand their ground in the Brush Hurdle race at Haydock, having been monitoring this race during the build up it was noticable that plenty were punted earlier in the week, notably Yala Enki who was readily available with plenty at 16's & 20's previously. With the defection of Taglitelle(runs at Dundalk this evening, well backed I might add), Closing Ceremony has inherited top weight of 11-12, he being my idea of a horse that has the credentials to run well in tomorrows race.
Since it's inception as a class 2 handicap in 2007 there has been plenty of decent weight carrying performances with many horses carrying this type of weight at the top of the handicap
producing some nice returns to E.W. and win investements.
Won 20-1 (2007) 2nd 25-1 (2008) Won 9-2 (2009) 4th 40-1 (2010) Won 10-1 (2012).
It is also aparant that younger legs have dominated the winners enclosure, with all victors in this time period being aged 7 or below, also evident with plenty of those winning horses were their lightly raced progressive profiles up to the point of this event.
The above has lead me to the door of the Emma Lavelle yard, with Closing Ceremony ticking all the right boxes regarding age, profile, and his BHA rating and also trainer form, Closing Ceremony ran well for a long way in that Grade 2 contest a few weeks ago at Wetherby, not given a hard time of things either given this his likely target, looking to have been nursed home prior to blowing up just before entering the straight. That pretty much the same scenario the previous season, having been eased off when out of contention on that comeback run in a better race reappeared Nto on the Friday of this meeting to win a nice enough pot against some fair types. He also loves Haydock as a venue, with an unblemished record of 1-1-1 over C/D, a very nice statistic to have on the C/V at any course. His latest C/D win was when beating a very useful horse in Seeyouatmidnight, who was next seen running a screamer in the World Hurdle at the festival.
Closing Ceremony is still readily available at 14-1, which given his overall profile and current form of the yard looks huge odds Imo, I'm on today just in case any well known tipster spoil the price.

There are many benefits when backing anti post, speaking from experience even when reading between the line of trainer comments regarding targets My horse is usually in the stable come post time
