Sixth in the that DBS bumper, Criq Rock runs in the 3.50 at Haydock today. No doubt there could be a very good unraced horse in there but Criq Rock has won since and looks interesting.

On the whole, playing in those sort of races is usually unprofitable over a period of time.

Do you mean bumpers or following the form of a specific race? The latter can be very profitable and at the time, because the Newbury race was restricted to horses bought at Doncaster, it was given quite a low rating We now see it was very good.

criq rock was a big eyecatcher that day if you watch the race, richard johnson rode him and just hacked him round in midfield.
looks like a decent animal, settled better today. |

Sorry, I meant bumpers. Unraced horses from middle of the road stables like, say, Jamie Snowden, Karen McLintock, Ben Pauling etc are very dangerous and the betting doesn't always give away when one is lurking. Statement of the bleedin' obvious, I know.

I beg to diver, bumpers are my favourite races..with novice hurdles, but I find I can consistently find winners in bumpers,..some times e/w bets ..I understand a lot of people dismiss the races...but imvho they are good for punting. |
