She did well, hoss must have had a stone in hand
Report ashleigh November 13, 2015 2:59 PM GMT
amazing sit.
Report sageform November 13, 2015 3:00 PM GMT
Needs a weight allowance according to AP though. She is so much the best rider round that course that it is embarassing.

if she claimed 3 lb she'd be champion jockey
Report duffy November 13, 2015 3:04 PM GMT
something happened just before the last too...looked like she slipped down around the horses neck....or was it just her crouching lowConfused
Report Mat22 November 13, 2015 3:06 PM GMT
Sensational Ride!......She better then 99% of the blokes in the plate.
Report tashkent terror November 13, 2015 3:10 PM GMT
looked unbalanced at last for me, she slipped down it's neck trying to get an extra slap with the stick.

still a great ride though.
Report Northofperth November 13, 2015 3:10 PM GMT
Great ride from Nina , she did well to stay in the saddle and she was keen to cut the corners/stick to the rail , and she never gave up . Well done to her and all who backed the winner .
Report curious-cat November 13, 2015 3:10 PM GMT
she's a lovely lovely girl Love
Report duffy November 13, 2015 3:11 PM GMT
Mccoys point is a general one...obviously you can point to the very very best woman rider and question it but you could also point to plenty of examples where the point is valid....generally speaking I'd agree with him.
Report Vubiant November 13, 2015 3:18 PM GMT
McCoy's suggestion is nothing but a load of condescending codswallop -anyway  nobody will be stupid enough to even try it on.
Report Natural Horseman November 13, 2015 3:21 PM GMT
apprentice girl jockeys having to ride more winners than the boys to lose their claim is the best suggestion
Report curious-cat November 13, 2015 3:22 PM GMT
on that subject why does a rider need strength to get a horse running for him/her ?

Who is carrying who ?
Report duffy November 13, 2015 3:27 PM GMT
because every winner doesn't do so on the bridle.....generally speaking strength comes into it  to some degree or another in the pushing and shoving stakes in most races so you're left arguing as to whether girls are as strong as boys .....if you want to deny that strength in the saddle doesn't exist then that is a bit bonkers.
Report curious-cat November 13, 2015 3:57 PM GMT
tongue in cheek .... but I'm not sure how often jockey strength comes into it

when you think of all the other factors involved I would put jockey strength some way down behind how fit the horse is, going, distance etc.

Report Dr Crippen November 13, 2015 4:14 PM GMT
So weak at the finish as well - lol.
Report sageform November 13, 2015 4:55 PM GMT
I can see a case for girl/lady riders getting an extra 3lb until they have ridden out their claim but after that they should have to ride on a par with men.
Report lead on November 13, 2015 6:39 PM GMT
Wonderful ride on the topweight in the last...beautifully presented at the fences and never got the horse out of his rythym...something McCoy probably wouldn't understand...his comments about strength in the saddle say more about his own riding philosophy than the lady jockeys..he relied on brute strength(brutal strength) to compensate for his lack of natural horsemanship...still vivid memories of Valiramix and poor Darlan...victims of a jockey who could thrash and intimidate a fit horse to win a seller but was often found out when on a class horse.
Report ashleigh November 14, 2015 2:53 PM GMT
another top ride.Happy
Report duffy November 14, 2015 3:05 PM GMT
lead on....on balance and taking everything you've just posted into account....I've decided that you must be nuts....apologies if this is erroneous.
Report Vubiant November 14, 2015 10:07 PM GMT
Agree with lead on.
McCoy the most overhyped jockey of all time .His idea about an allowance for female jockeys is an asinine insult.
Report blackbarn November 14, 2015 10:17 PM GMT
Where's that Basilbrush when you need him.  He's always got an opinion on Nina.   Here's one from March of this year....

"I think she has lost the plot to be honest, I wouldn't let her near a horse these days, well past her best.....she has become a complete liability like the Mangan girl, in Ninas defence, she was a good jockey at one time.
