Let me share my experience of racecourse catering at Lingfield yesterday. Queued up in the brasserie for over ten minutes despite only one person in front of me (they get served lunch quicker in Wormwood Scrubs). Eventually its my turn to order from a menu of chili con carne or sausages in mash. The chili looks like a refugee from whenever the last jumps meeting was so I ask for the sausages and mash. Do you have an owners or trainers badge asks Grotbags behind the counter to which I reply no. In that case you cant have it as its for owners and trainers only I am told. I assume this is a Jeremy Beadle type stunt so ask again and get the same reply that for mere paying peasants like myself its rancid looking chili or nothing. After telling her where to stuff her chili I decide to go to the fish and chip shop behind the stands only to find thats closed. After much searching I then come across the delightfully named Piglets Pantry but food options here are even worse. For the bargain price of a fiver theres a sausage roll which looks all roll and no sausage or some pies which look like they've been there since Slip Anchor won the Derby Trial. So I just gave up and went hungry all day. Lingfield,ARC and the Reuben Brothers you are a disgrace and have lost me as a customer for ever
I rate the overall catering at Lingfield as one of the worst i've experienced and certainly the worst of all in the South. It's about time ARC sorted it out.
