To be honest never did much wrong there but reality is another beaten fav think he finding its no easy pickings on the sand

I don't think his failure rate on favourites is much (if at all) worse than the norm. What are the facts of the matter, Racingqueen, presumably you have them to hand?
|
|
By:
i don't deal in facts of the matter blackbarn i much prefer to see my losing betting slips as hard evidence of his uselessness
|
|
By:
So to paraphrase.....I don't know what his record is but I keep backing his rides and lose. Sounds like a plan

exactly, every so often one pops in and im in the money |

Amazing what a difference not having that extra 3lb off can make and the stable's apprentice Thomas Brown probably would have won the 7:10 if they had used his claim.
Many on here were lauding Oisin Murphy as the second coming when he was still claiming and many more routinely slaughter journeymen jockeys like Nicky Mackay on a regular basis, and yet the journeyman beats the new messiah off levels. Who'd have thought it eh? |
|
By:
Is he still the stable's apprentice?

make a huge effort and try looking beyond your last losing bet - you'll save yourself a lot of stress! |

Think he's now apprentice to Ismail Mohammed.

It's because he can't claim 3lb all his faves aren't winning.....
mystery solved..... ![]() |
|
By:
Er no, it's because he can't claim 3lbs that the favs he gets narrowly beaten on aren't winning.
If he gets beaten 6L then even with the 3lbs it's unlikely to have made any difference. |
|
By:
So every professional who gets narrowly beaten would have won if they were still claiming 3lbs is that it?
|
|
By:
No, they might also have won if claiming 5lbs or 7lbs too.
Your question is far too simplistic (as I hope you already know) but just put it this way, if they were carrying 3lbs less weight then I think that it would probably be significant factor in the defeat. Likewise if they were narrowly beaten and a 3lb claimer could have ridden it then that could well be significant too, or if they were narrowly beaten by a 3lb claimer on the winner then that could be significant too? Can you see a pattern forming here? Let's just say a horse wins a race ridden by a fully-fledged jockey and gets beaten in a photo next time with a 6lb penalty, then wouldn't you say that 6lbs was significant? It's basically the same thing as a claimer winning on a horse on his final ride being able to claim 3lbs, yet retains the ride next time and is narrowly beaten without the 3lbs being claimed. I'll go out on a limb here though and say that had say Jack Garritty or Tom Marquand ridden Make Music today then the horse probably would have won. Please feel free to explain though Roger De Bris how a horse having 3lb less weight to carry is a disadvantage.....Er. ![]() |
|
By:
Obviously not. There's more to winning than the weight carried.
