Running in the veterans chase off top weight this former GN winner has shown little form since winning that race but i think may suprise today.
Dr Newland does like to win a decent race or two at Sandown, won the William Hill Handicap Hurdle with Overstrand and also the Imperial Cup with Ebony Express at 33/1 last season.
Also won a veterans chase here with Dashing George. PDR has been campaigned lightly since mainly over hurdles and now drops to a mark lower than his National victory. The Dr can bring them back as proved with Overstrand who won again at Market Rasen nearly 3 years after his WH victory. Dr Newland has his string in good form and think the victory of Royal Knight at Sedgefield recently after running last in his previous hurdle race a month before could signal a similar run for PDR today.
