We know there was one a few weeks back, but does anyone have a list of winners that have been disqualified for weighing in light in UK & Ireland in recent times?

Thanks.

Capricho - 2002 Bunbury Cup

DSQ     Capricho (IRE) 11/1     5-9-8      John Akehurst     97 — 99  T Quinn

Held up, switched right 2f out, headway over 1f out, ran on under pressure to join winner on line, disqualified and placed last

Capricho was effectively racing off his Wokingham Handicap mark without his weight-cloth, with around 10lb missing

On a similar note there was a handicap good thing Fav a few weeks ago,
that lost it's weight cloth in the murk just after the stalls.

Woman jockey I believe - plenty of 1.01 and 1000

Hardly anyone saw it apart from some eagle-eyed tweeter who contacted RUK pundits immediately after line.

Replay was so obvious

An aside - on the same theme - But NOT involving a Winner.

Wonder what happened at the BHA Investigation?

Probably filed under 'Too difficult'
--------------

THE closing race of last week's Ebor meeting at York is believed to be the focus of a BHA investigation amid suspicions two of the runners carried the wrong weight cloth.

If confirmed, the Alan Baileytrained Vimy Ridge shouldered 9lb more than his allotted 8st 8lb in the apprentice sprint handicap, while Gay Kelleway's Lightscameraction, who was set to carry 9st 3lb, ran with 9lb less lead.

Bailey, who arrived at York on Saturday as runners were entering the stalls, having been to Chester, said: "I don't know what happened and didn't have anything to do with it, but the girl with my horse said she thought something was amiss somewhere but wasn't sure what."

He explained that Kelleway's travelling head lad had helped saddle Vimy Ridge in his absence, but said: "Whether a mistake was made and the wrong weight cloth was put on my horse, I don't know."

Should suspicions prove founded, the result of the sprint could be said to have been affected as Vimy Ridge was beaten just five lengths in fifth. Lightscameraction came home eighth.

Kelleway, who was in Deauville on Saturday with her Prix Morny runner Zebstar, said: "They did help each other saddle up but maybe somebody is trying to stir something up, I don't know."

Neither Kelleway, Bailey nor staff at their Newmarket stables have yet been spoken to by officials. BHA spokesman Robin Mounsey said: "It is BHA policy not to comment on investigations or speculation surrounding potential investigations."

Thanks all.

My reason for finding out how often it happens is for the purposes of photo & stewards betting.

I know some on here don't consider a beaten horse to be a 999-1 shot until it has been weighed in.

Betfair should change the rules and make the race void when this happens as it is open to huge corruption.

Spookily happened a few times recently now.
Sure it used to be on average once a year.

Hope no-one has been bitten laying 3 or even 4 figure priced winners IR, more than once

"I know some on here don't consider a beaten horse to be a 999-1 shot until it has been weighed in. "

That's stupid. If that was the case you could back every losing 2nd just before the winner crosses the line and make a nice profit. 999/1 shot in-running winners happen fairly regularly, problems with weight don't. A weight cloth fell off from one of the horses back in July in Worcester but it wasn't the winner. I would like to see how often these accidents (?) happen actually.

Ok, I understand that a jockey might sweat excessively during a rather long jump race. How can someone fail to weigh in in a flat race (like Desert Kiss,  4.35 Sandown, 11/9/2009)? No weight cloth seems to have fallen off.

DQ 1. Desert Kiss (4)

tracked leader, led 6f out, ridden 2f out, ran on inside final furlong (disqualified for failing to weigh in at correct weight)

Unrequited. Wexford 30/8/2014.

Never mind weighed in light, the winning jockey forgot to weigh in full stop.
