The owner was hoping to breed from Sammy's Warrior, who'd just been beaten in a claimer? Shocked

Jim Best had wool pulled over his eyes and found crying like a baby.
No he fecking nows how us punters feel when hes pulling the stroke.

The last paragraph - Tinkler & Haggas both previously fined £100 for failing to report a gelding op, but may view Bott's case in a "more sympathetic light".

How much more sympathetic can they be? Laugh

Are you suggesting Geoff that Mattie's car didnt break down.
Report geoff m November 4, 2015 4:32 PM GMT
Matties car probably wouldnt start(flooded engine) as when riding some of Jims he wouldnt let go of the chokeLaugh

Have you ever read such cobblers? Any journalist worth his salt would be asking 'Why do want to breed from a colt just beaten in a claimer'? Graham Green more or less let Best write his own article.

"It's like laying a horse because it only seems to be capable of a 50 rating and finding out its an 80 horse and having to pay out."

Translation. Jim Best pays over the odds for a horse that is not very good.
Realises he doesn't want it and finds an excuse to have a pop at someone.
Breed from that lump of mince, come off it!

Report pablo-fanque November 4, 2015 6:40 PM GMT
if it was 95% of any other trainers, people wouldn't have a problem with them wanting their money back .

he bought a horse that was not what it should have been , I can't see what the problem in them wanting their money back is  , regardless of what their intentions breeding wise is or isn't
Report Barton Bank November 4, 2015 6:42 PM GMT
You are probably right. But for some reason a forum of people who bet of Horse Racing doesn't seem to be overflowing with sympathy for Jim Best. I wonder why?
Report Barton Bank November 4, 2015 6:42 PM GMT
On, not of. Sorry
Report geoff m November 4, 2015 6:47 PM GMT
Yes he should be entitled to the sale being voided but its the irony of the situation that he may have been conned makes us think what goes round eventually may come round .
But in his case he will be totally recompensed.
Report duncan idaho November 4, 2015 7:47 PM GMT
anyone else would be pleased to find out the horse was already a gelding cos it saves them the cost of chopping off its knackers but this horsesh!t merchant has to come up with a **** (pun accidental) and bull story to get out of the sale cos theyve changed their mind for whatever reason

Obviously there is unlikely to be a whip round for him on here.

A Kevin Ryan Seller winner at Musselburgh was once sold by the auctioneer as a filly when it was a gelding.
The sale was cancelled and it was put up for auction again.
Report sageform November 5, 2015 6:48 AM GMT
Not a fan of Best but of course he should return the horse. He might have expect
Ed to improve the horse by having it gelded as many trainers do.
Report Dr Gonzo November 5, 2015 10:23 AM GMT
Thought he'd be able to get some improvement from it by gelding it, only to find out it'd already been done.

Which is not to say that he isn't correct, the horse wasn't as advertised. But the suggestion that it has been bought to breed from is one of the most risible things i've ever heard.
Report sageform November 5, 2015 11:24 AM GMT
Agreed.
Report saddo November 26, 2015 10:22 AM GMT
Did Botti get a slap for that, George? A bit naughty or just a typo on the catalogue?
Report GEORGE.B November 26, 2015 11:38 AM GMT
Just an oversight on Botti's part, saddo.

I don't know what the outcome was for Botti, but it appears £100 max fine.

Here's the RP piece on it:
