Paul Hanagan, the rider of ALNASHAMA, placed sixth, reported that the gelding hung left inside the final furlong.

looked to me like there was not much interest in getting a clear run .
maybe it's just how things panned out for him, if so, was a terrible ride to not foresee the possibility of being blocked and not reacting earlier to try and do something so as not to get a "clearer" run .

My thoughts exactly pf. Kingscote made no effort to position himmself in away way to get a clear run.
