Well Dan it's 4 in the morning so I can be a bit cranky about that ride...Frankie can F off...

Would've won with john mccrirrick in the saddle if he'd got a clear run

Smullen would have done the business-Dettori let the winner get first run on him.Heartbreaking stuff from a jockey that blows hot and cold.

I think it's irrelevant putting up names...a decision had to be made 2 out and Frankie should've handled the situation better....I mean the horse was still travelling and was still to be asked for his effort at that point...with a cleaner run it would've won

Gutted too ELG, with a run inside would've won cosy. Snatching up cost Max 2 lengths. Shame Ryan Moore wasn't on it

It certainly wasn't Dettori's finest hour

I backed the horse, gutted as well. But I'm not sure Frankie was completely to blame tbh. Had he just sat and sat like he did on Foundation, the gap might never have come. I was willing him ro come on the outside during the race rather than wait and wait....

Just really unlucky, but not sure he deserves too much stick.

And to be fair, if you watch the inside after he goes wide, no gap ever does appear. He would have been stranded on the inside with nowhere to go imo.

he was charged with careless riding for his manoeuvre at the 350m....Jimmy Cassidy was extremely lucky to stay onboard Grand Marshall.

Pleaded guilty....fined 20k and banned for 1 month.

Yes I know, but if he hadn't taken evasive action he would have been boxed in and never got a run. So whilst it was wrong what he did, it gave the horse the best chance of winning the race imo.

I know what your saying but even then he would still be at fault for having Max in a position where he could potentially not get a run....the winner was actually drawn to his inside yet flew past him as Dettori dithered away about what to do next...

Frankie was outridden by Michelle Payne on the winner. Once she'd moved PoP off the rail, Frankie had nowhere to go. If he'd made his move just before she made hers, it might have finished the other way round.

He took out Gust Of Wind twice. That horse should nearly have won, especially with a lower gate than 19.

I wish our stewards would give month bans for taking out half the field like that.

they give them a pat on the back and say well done for carrying the runner up from one side to the other and although you only won by a nose we cant be sure it affected the placings

It was less Frankies fault than the course. One thing for sure watching Flemington and Keeneland is that some British, French and Irish Courses are leagues ahead in terms of layout. The US and Aus courses are filth. A short home straight guarantees traffic issues rather than encouraging racing where the best horses win. AW in Britain is similar

They'd also wrecked the centre of the track.

Its a pity he didnt get suspended for the ineptitude of the Foundation ride - plenty would then have been on a winner last night.

Just want to add....people can say funny things at 4 in the morning and with only a couple hours sleep so apologies for the rant.

I've been fairly quiet with the international racing and was just biding my time for a couple of months just waiting for Max Dynamite.

A woman was drawn beside him and made him look like a claimer. Has now lost 2 big races when on the best horse all in the last couple of weeks. Got lucky in the Arc when another one of the greatest jockeys in the world also fcuked up. I accept any jockey can be unlucky in a race but it doesnt happen too often with the good ones. There was a good one some years back called Lester and in a long career I dont believe he got much wrong.

Backed it e/w just seen it. No complaints, another day, he would have got a run and people would be screaming FRANKKKKKIE

disagree with this - he panicked imo had he just been patient there was a gap, he just had to follow snow sky through and it actually opened up like the red sea if he had just sat and shown some bottle...complete panic stations and a horrible ride to watch...i feel for mullins who prepared the horse perfectly

i will add that dettori appeared agitated when a rider came up his inner rounding the home turn, he lost his cool imo and this lead to the wrong decision in the straight

what can I say...Frankie out ridden by a girl, took the runs Frankie should have.well done michelle.

Frankie fined for taking out 1/2 dozen chances and Colm O'Donoghue suspended 14 meetings for taking out other chances at the 250 metre mark.
any decent jockeys in the UK?.

are you for real??

a 600 metre wide straight,plenty of room and all horses have a chance. also  a 1200m run to the first corner. arguably the best race course in the world even in awe by european trainers. it maybe flat which you dislike, but every horse has a chance. even more when pacemakers are banned

going by you,seems the UK alone consists in this world. have some respect for the country that has more horse flesh than Europe,ireland,canada, USA combine......yes Australia

add in japan with the best stayers in the world, our part of the world is grand...jockeys can ride too

Huge field,massive crowd,congestion entering the stretch,the biggest race of the year in Australia.

And yet there were only two incidents of interference. Frankie caused trouble for at least 4 runners with his move and Spencer nearly

put one over the rail and impeded a couple of others in the process.He got a 13 meeting ban.

British based jockeys are so used to riding under our stupid interference rules that they find it hard to change when abroad (with the

notable exception of Ryan Moore).

It's about time the BHA started  handing out the kind of suspensions that Frankie and Jamie got.That would soon put a stop to the race after

race cases of,often deliberate, interference.

I'm not blaming the jockeys for this situation (when riding in Britain that is) because they know that they will probably keep the race and

might get a few days holiday. I blame the BHA for not clamping down.
