...E.W. bet Be Royale 13.40 Southwell 8-1 generally, use BOG firms
Tomorrow there appears to be an excellent jumping fixture at Exeter, with former champion chaser Sir De Grugy no doubt encouraging people to attend that particular fixture. With such decent competitive racing on offer in this sphere plenty of people may not have even afforded the Southwell fixture a glance, however I've been drawn to a Michael Appleby runner in the 13.40 on that card, with the hint of a suggestion that this very shrewd handler may have been plotting to land some multi bets given the way they have been campaigned and placed in tomorrow's respective contests.
I'm fairly sure that this may have flashed up on other folks radar, what with the famous Curley gamble being landed in emphatic fashion, followed by a decent effort at a massive coup by team Fahey on Ayr Gold Cup day, landing such big plots via multiplied odds with mediocre animals (this applies to the former) , does look a lucrative way of paying the bills and a whole lot more. I'm not entirely convinced that tomorrow team Appleby have laid out their runners for such a coup, but anyone having a browse at his runners in depth could be forgiven for thinking he was, I'd also wager those that have not run on the surface have been schooled on it during a racecourse gallop, which he has done before.
The horse that may be the second leg of the potential coup is the one I fancy to run a very big race, with Be Royale looking to have been teed up for a decent effort with a warm up race at Kempton a few weeks ago having had the summer off. That race supplied no clue as to what her wellbeing currently is, but then again she has always seemed to habitually need any sort of run back, usually coming on considerably for it. That run also precipitated the assessor to show leniency, allowing this mare to get into this 0-70 event with no margin of error. Despite not winning off a mark this high she has ran some solid enough races on turf off 73 and twice off 74, the suggestion being she is a better performer on an artificial surface. She's also a mare that most definitely shows improved form going into this time of the year. With lifetime form in November reading 3-1-1-1-2. Some may be put off by the fact stable jockey Andrew Mullen is not onboard, however Robert Winston get's on with the mare particularly well, from 3 rides boasts a form line of 1-1-4. Tomorrow the race looks full of pace, which will be much more accommodating to her than the muddling pace that was set in her recent Kempton comeback, with a double figured draw another positive if the stats are to be believed over C/D.
I'm probably looking at something that just isn't there, but it would be very interesting to see how things play out should his first couple of runners go in or even get placed, with quite a few of his runners looking already to have the tinge of oddschecker blue.
remember him landing multiple winners a few years back at lingfield and im pretty sure he went close to a 4 timer earlier this season at newcastle,so anythings possible.
i have a theory some of these trainers are going for multiple winners on one day because they cannot get the money down on singles, only downside with tomorrows runners is that appleby does not charge travelling expenses for any runners at southwell,so perhaps some are just making the numbers up.
best of luck with your selection rob.

I'm very much of that opinion KIW in relation to getting reasonable money on with bookies, especially if you consider there are some very big hitters who own horses and like to shovel it on, any such a punt outside the big festival meetings would no doubt be swerved from a trading perspective by high street providers. Trackman you are correct it is November, I've just spotted my error regards the thread title

Cara's Request 16-1 e/w for me even though the race doesn't appeal much - gets 15 Ibs pull with your selection Be Royal, on their 18 Nov 14 cd result could easily be enough to make up the 5.5 lengths ... Sire stats are very weak on a/w from a small sample but he looks overpriced again on his two cd runs ... I love a price

A real tricky race Rob, I have followed Solar Spirit for several years & at 10 runs here for the first time, sire stats are very good so no reason it wont run well but will be backing Llewellyn & a saver on Munaawib & Solar, be lucky

Today may not be his day but the most interesting horse running at Redcar today is Cartright. By High Chaparral out of One So Marvellous, a full sister to One So Wonderful, winner of the Juddmonte, and related to many other group winners.

Cannot believe the price of the winner once it went to double figures on here I went in again, friendless in the market not a problem as when it was second here in July it also drifted like a barge.
