Sad

Those great days of Slip Anchor, Bosra Sham,  Refrence Point,  Oh So Sharp  and countless others including the best one ive ever seen Frankel

Will become just memories.Sad

Wont be long before the bulldozers and the concrete lorrys arrive i guess, i know its progress, but some of my greatest memories of this great game and that great man HRAC Will be buried under a concrete jungle.Sad

Of cause the world moves on and no doubt the new owner will do something special with it, but it will never be the Warran Place that i knew.

As the saying goes" If you dont ask you dont get" Then im going up there this week and asking if i can have a rose bush or a plaque anything before the jcbs do there deedSad

Great days great memories.Love

Is that because it was actually Warren Place?Shocked

My sweet Lady Jane
When I see you again
Your servant am I
And will humbly remain
Just heed this plea my love
On bended knees my love
I pledge myself to Lady Jane.

Certainly an end of an era, but will always be Sir Henrys and Father in law Noel Murless yard to me.
Hope you get some nice roses next year!

Warren Place

Warren Place is one of the most famous training locations in the world and has been home to a long line of champions through the decades.

Situated at the summit of Warren Hill a mile to the east of Newmarket, it has an atmosphere all of its own. With over 140 boxes spread out over a spacious site, its charm, beauty and tranquillity are striking.

History has shown that in this idyllic environment, horses thrive and fulfil their potential. Established as a training stables by Sam Darling in the 1920s, its reputation significantly grew when it was occupied by multiple champion trainer Noel Murless. In the Murless era, Warren Place was home to champions such as Crepello, St Paddy and Royal Palace.

Henry Cecil took over at the renowned premises in 1976 and went on to enjoy enormous success from there. Ardross, Oh So Sharp, Bosra Sham and – of course – the legendary Frankel all flourished under Cecil’s care at Warren Place.

Warren Place offers access to exceptional training grounds and gallops to cater for every stage of a racehorse's career. The stables also provide extensive facilities, from grass paddocks to a covered ride and a horse-walker, helping our team provide the very best care for the horses trained at the yard.

Lady Cecil took on the training responsibilities at the stables in June 2013 and has already enjoyed several high-profile victories. Such successes have served as a reminder of something her late husband often said –  “Warren Place just works”. How very apt those words are.

You can say that again, i was lucky enough that for a while my daughter lived in the bungalow right opposite the covered walk and horse walker.

As a kid i used to drive up there and was in awe of the place just from the road, but to actually be allowed to drive onto it and walk around it was a dream for me come true.

Alas when the great man died Lady Jane had to let some boxes to Ed Walker and he needed the bungalow my daughter was inSad

Great days great memories all too brief that i will take to my graveHappy

Lady Jane had the hardest act in the world to follow, and it comes as no surprise to see the shutters being pulled down. I feel for Jane as the jockeys she has been using since she took over have hardly helped her cause, letting S.Donohoe anywhere near her horses was a massive mistake imho. Must be dreadful for Jane living at Warren Place without Henry, he was the nearest thing to a gentleman you could ever hope to meet.
