Last season, Nicky Henderson had a lot of good wins over hurdles but the chasers were very poor. So far this season since May, he has had just 3 chase wins so I am happy to lay Theinval at odds on at Bangor. He should win this on hurdle form but.....

16.00     Nightline is having his first run for us, he's a 3 mile chaser in the making but I wouldn't be running him over hurdles if I didn't think he could be competitive. His work has been good and his handicap mark looks workable to me so I'm hoping for a good start with him. Obviously we will learn from today and have a clearer picture going forward after the race, but I'm hopeful of a good performance and wouldn't be surprised to see him right in the thick of things at the finish. Interesting but how is it relevant to Henderson chasers?

I wondered that.
Nexius on his debut for Nicholls might be better value in the chase.

It was just a punter saying it but apparently at the Henderson stable open day one of the head lads predicted a more even spread of winners in the yard this season.

I thought that Salmon and even Kingfisher Creek is not out of it. I might throw £2 on him at 25/1 plus.

14.30     Kingfisher Creek           I'm really not sure what to expect from Kingfisher Creek today tackling fences for the first time. His schooling hasn't been great but his the type to go and jump really well in a race when you least expect it. If he jumps well then he has the form to go close, but whatever he does today will be a learning curve for both us and the horse. C. Tizzard

Theinval drifted from 1.77 to 2 so I'm not the only doubter.

Does Longsdon mention Coologue?

Coologue runs in what is probably one of the most competitive Novice chases of the season so far. There is such a shortage of Novice chases this season that you are forced to run. It will extremely tough to beat either Nexius, Theinval or Racing Pulse, but I know our horse will run very well.

Racing Pulse / Kingfisher Creek the 2 I'd be interested in.
You have a leg of Coologue Koi or is that a quote from his website ?

I noticed the post above yours just as I posted.
FWIW I hear big things are expected from Tjongonge so may be worth looking out for.

The winner looks a decent prospect.

I didn't really have a clue which was best of the rest but for whatever reason, horses that have been with Henderson for more than 12 months are very layable.

I think maybe the henderson horses are maybe needing the run, a few have been found wanting at "the death"

Well done with the winner sageform.
Agree Koi. Didn't he have a new gallop installed during the summer to help him get them ready fto & more used to soft ground ? ( Using a much deeper AW gallop does this apparently)

Does not explain why his hurdlers are still winning. Hargam the only fancied one beaten and he had no business being fav on form.

heres what he thought

14.30     Coologue           In theory he can't beat Theinval and Nexius, but he does jump well enough and he should run OK. I'd be happy with a clear round and a mid-division finish. C. Longsdon

Agree about Cocktails at Dawn but Theinval ran exactly like so many of his chasers did last season. Travelled and jumped fine and looked the winner 3 out but then stopped dead. When horses like Sprinter Sacre and Bobs Worth go from champions to very ordinary there has to be a reason and it is not just injuries.

I can't see how he has a problem that affects the chasers but not the hurdlers though.

Travelled well then blew up turning for home, will come on an heap for the run. This horse could be a possible for the novice handicap at the festival so im sure they will keep things low key for its next run also! Henderson got a lot of horses going chasing this year, Volnay De Thaix, Vaniteux, Vyta Du Roc, L'ami Serge etc.. We will soon find out if his chase record last season was just a fluke.
