No financial interest here, but that ride was inexcusbaly poor from a former Champion jockey.

It is possible to give a horse a lovely intro though and actually try and win

He did try and win, he just didnt rush the horse up to the first bend and risk getting knocked over.

It was a ride that he either was not bothered about winning the race or thought he had another circuit to go...still the ATR people thought he was unlucky...
