I wonder if anyone is having the same problem as me or anyone with an idea how to solve it.
When starting Betfair (either on Firefox or Chrome) there are times when after the initial screen, I cant load any markets. One of the few things that shows is a box which usually says hide menu which says {{ ::'NAV.HIDE_MENU' | i18n }} . I have found that the best way forward from here is to reload the page and after several attempts the screen correctly shows and the problem doesn't reappear during that session. Extremely frustrating as was Betfair's response (clear cache, cookies, don't use favourites).
No such problems on other sites. I'm using Windows 7.
Exactly the same as you Brian and only on the filthy new site. Quickest way in is Log in and then press Horse Racing. If it sticks then press Horse Racing again etc. I use Mozilla. I wouldn't bother ringing the horrible Help Desk!

It is to do with an Add-On called 'Ghostery' - and (possibly, in SOME instances, other AdBlockers) - which you need to disable. ------------
There is also a similar thread/request to your on General Betting ...
Betfair site broken with ad blockers?

Is anyone else having a problem viewing the exchange markets with ad blockers? I use the plugin 'Ghostery' and on Firefox & Safari, the markets have recently stopped loading.
In order to make the site work again, you have to allow the 'Google Tag Manager' to load on the site. Why on earth does Betfair's website depend upon a third party in order to work? Gin 13 Oct 15 19:48 I'm not using Ghostery but haven't had any problems with the markets whilst using Kaspersky's blocking (along with adblock plus).
I am though having problems with Purple's new site and have to revert to the classic site.
It is NOT - "just you."There was a long thread about this problem - well over a week ago...community.betfair.com/horse_racing/go/thread/view/94102/30594955/have-we-crashed-the-siteIt is to do with an Add-On called 'Ghostery' - and (possibly, in SOME
It's not just users with adblockers; I don't have one and every now and then I experience the symptoms described (using Firefox). As stated, a browser refresh usually clears it but it's an annoyance.

It's a strange one indeed - longridge - and an apparently random one aswell - as I DO USE AdBlock+Plus ... Yet have, thankfully, never had any of these issues.

I've been away from computer today (house maintainance started tugging at my conscience) but many thanks to those giving me the heads up on the causes. It only proves what a waste of time Betfair Helpdesk are, not to mention the new site. I had come to the conclusion that it was something to do with Ghostery but the randomness of the failure made me doubt myself.
Will direct Befair helpdesk to this thread though doubt it will do any good, if only we could clear out their cookies and cache.
