The best horse might have won but Cosgrave was 2l ahead of the winner at the time. Then Baker came upsides and got through the gap first probably giving the winner another 2l.

1.5l the difference.

I guess that's why you shouldn't back odds on either really. They should win but they nearly always find a way to get beat.

We can all speculate about whether it would have won or not but the facts are (1) there was a significant late drift on the exchanges (2) it got an incompetent ride at best, many would say bent. At the very least, the BHB should investigate and make the findings public. There was a very bad smell about that race.
