Report sparrow September 7, 2015 7:53 PM BST
I just checked.   Big Deal is a British television comedy/drama series produced by the BBC between 1984 and 1986. The series was created and written by Geoff McQueen who created several other major television series ... Wikipedia
First episode date: October 14, 1984
Final episode date: November 4, 1986

October 4th 1984 was a Sunday and November 4th 1986 was a Tuesday.       Laugh

Yes, like i said.

Yep, cheers Sparrow. Chuffed you put that link up, all 30 episodes converted and on my flash drive.

The useless BBC only sold series 1 on DVD. Last time i watched this was when it was on UK Gold in the 90's.
Report homefortea September 7, 2015 8:19 PM BST
The BBC suck in your money and never replay the best series..

Anyone remember Tutti Frutti or something like that from a similar era starring that fat waste of space Robbie Coltrane and I do believe Emma Thompson...

Cathy Come Home is a 1966 BBC television play by Jeremy Sandford, produced by Tony Garnett and directed by Ken Loach, about homelessness. A 1998 Radio Times readers' poll voted it the "best single television drama" and a 2000 industry poll rated it as the second best British television programme ever made.[2][3] Filmed in a gritty, realistic drama documentary style, it was first broadcast on 16 November 1966 on BBC1. The play was shown in the BBC's The Wednesday Play anthology strand, which often tackled social issues.

This play starred Ray Brooks and Carol White. It made a huge impact on the Uk public who watched it.

This was the era when greatly playwrights wrote for the BBC, expressing social comments on the massive injustices that poor and socially deprived people were suffering.

Ray Brooks made his name in this play - he was brilliant.

Regarding Cathy Come Home.
Report sparrow September 8, 2015 8:40 AM BST
Looking back it seems a little surprising that Cathy Come Home caused such a stir. But people then had more of a social conscience in my view.

Fact cannot help himself..

Tory austerity measures...Who has been affected - OK the single black mother that oils his wheelchair may get less hours but to the rest of us it is business as normal only I do not get £20k a year in interest..

People have never had it so good and a benefit cap of £25k a year is outrageous..

It should be food vouchers and a bed in a dormitory..

As for Rita Tushingham what a dog have you seen the state of her..

Facts' brain is bigger than her head...Laugh

That exists TO TAKE MONEY OFF THE POOR AND RETURN IT TO THE RICH..

Have to go now as I have just started to work again and am negotiating to build 200 new Mosques around the UK..

The one in Wisbech is nearly at the planning stage..
