for 15 years i have been on this forum which is nothing to be proud off as ive wasted to much time talking to people like you.
in all those 15 years and with all the loonies i have come across with respect you are by some distance the biggest buffoon i have seen on this forum perhaps at some stage you will accept what a tw.t of yourself you make on a daily basis.

Anybody who spoils an on course bookie love in is seen as a looney.
Forgive me for getting an empty reaching every time i see an on course bookie. I dont respect them because i know what they are like, even though knobbends like foxy and doneitthere dont want to hear it.
On course bookies are a bunch of fiddlers and they may not want to hear it, but its the truth.

Not sure if you were about at the time, but this all started wish this Mincer individual having a go at Allpoints, without any provocation.

There's still value to be had on course if you know what you are doing.Last Saturday for instance(last time we worked)at Redcar it was obvious it was going to be a massive crowd of once a year racegoers.Well these people in the main do not back odds on so in order for the books who don't want the jolly running for them they've got to top the machine to get the jollies in.In the first I don't think the fav. traded any higher than 1.61/1.62 for the 45 mins prior to the race so to get it we just went 4/6 to get it.The price was there for everyone except fellow bookmakers & indeed two of them got laid to small amounts & told them that price was there for the punters.It was infact still there when it went under 1.6 but there were very few takers,in fact we were only standing it for a couple of hundred when we took it away & went 4/7.By this time it was nearly down to 1.5 & the largest bet we laid on it was a 160/280,when it won the punter came up & said thank for playing fair as he knew we had been topping the exchange.We got his trade all afternoon after that.
Another example was at Cartmel where once again a similar situation(large once a year crowd of racegoers who don't want to back thin uns).The jolly was trading at about 1.92/1.94 so we just went evens.This price was never taken off the board & in fact one book came up & asked how much we stood it for & was surprised when I told him it wasn't for 200.True once you get bigger than about 3's the exchanges usually rule but there are still plenty of us who will top the exchanges especially on the thin uns as well as others we want to lay & as I've said at certain meetings & in certain rings the value is still there.
Take Factsmachine for instance he tops the machine on every fav. every day he works yet quite often he is still shouting the place down trying to get them in.

Oddball to bookie = Someone who doesnt like/ respect modern day bookie.
As for allpoints, obviously i couldnt know there was anything wrong with the man, i think its reasonable to assume that anybody who could compose such a piece was in reasonable health. Best wishes to him if he is poorly.

Everyone is entitled to make a living one way or another, and on course bookies at least some of them do make some sort of a living.
But its the feeling of entitlement, the huge ego's of some, the back slapping, and the love ins that wrankle with some punters.
The need to portray themselves as some sort of service provider, an integral part of a day out for the racegoer. Well the facts are that the world has changed and nobody really needs the on course bookie anymore, big punters cannot get on, and small punters have no shortage of options, most of which are at least on a par with the on course bookie.
Obviously they dont like hearing it, and react to being told same by labelling the author as a crank or bitter even, maybe even insinuating that the poster is mentally frail.
Moneytalks/Bullshhit walks sums them up in a nutshell, by issuing the plea to not engage the dissenters. Dont engage because we dont want to be told the truth.
