i can assure you they were not hiding in the middle ,well and truly put away by the racecourse ,the security they employed were told bookmakers are not allowed to leave until racing had finished.

Rlyl... Don't always believe what you read. (Racecourses are sometimes economical with the truth.)
Foxy... ''Sorry, sir... We're only doing what we've been told!''
Mtc... Indeed... Who in there right minds were going to rush to see some geezer play a few records on a racecourse, ffs?

Centre of the course books well and truly stitched up by the racecourse management. It looked dire from where I was standing, and tatts was only average.
Foxy, at a guess 6 bets and £20 per race?

Same racecourse group who in May told us all that a crowd of 14,000 was expected at Uttoxeter when they had Texas playing after racing. Official crowd 6,780.
Maybe they are trying to get some of their losses back in betting badges?

Is it not time that AGT gave it a rest giving out false info...how many times have they told us "bumper crowd ",make sure your there early.the books attendance doubles the crowd's are usually average and once again the racecourses feel the game must be good as so many books are prepared to pay extra for it. Sedgefield was a classic example ....there where 200 in a marquee and the general public where expected to pay £20 instead of the normal £8 to attend a less than exciting card with no facilities ..when it was only £16 in tatts (£4 too much in my humble opinion)....they will probably just drive the 9 regulars that Derek Wood goes for away!!

The daughter's just told me she's been talking to a lass who was a guest in the hospitality(middle of the course)& it had cost whoever was paying £78 for her to be in there.True it was free drinks all night but how much can 1 person drink in a night? She said the whole set up was an absolute sham.

Not wanting to fall out with anyone but the books apart from Derek who turned up in the middle of the course should take a good look at themselves & say how daft was that turning up there. After all what punters was Vernon Kay going to put on the crowd & to believe the bumph put out by certain racecourse managements is just stupid?

i have also stood in that ring on my own in recent years when dw has been away as has pd who kept the ring open on boxing day when dw was at wetherby, only last january on the sunday fixture i had agreed to go as dw was on holiday knowing full well it would be useless thanfully the meeting was called of saving me a few quid and a wasted sunday, dw has to be applauded for his loyalty at sedgefield and perhaps sedgefield should wave the badge fee in future when he is on his own folkestone did in there center course for dn for many years, perhaps you should get the full facts in future before you start asking where the others have been.

They are looking for free badges now for turning up. Maybe the bookmaking equivalent of the academy awards at the end of the year is in order. There would be some nominations in the fiddler of the year category, and best supporting arber also.
