Betfair have settled my lay bet on Heavens Guest (backed it at 16/1 with Ladbrokes) without reducing it for Speculative Bid being an official non-runner, and have settled my win bet on Specualtive Bid as a loser???? Surely that is wrong???

It was one of the two I backed in the race and still shows as a loser on my Betfair account. I also had it in an Exacta and Tricast and in multiple bets.

^ Should add all above bets placed after final declarations.

a real headache for anyone who did a B2L on the winner.. I hope you were well clear of the R4...

Reg. R4 applies to price at time of withdrawal, not what it was when you placed the bet.

Just contacted Betfair who have stated that it's a N/R on their Sportsbook but a runner on the exchange Crazy

Is there anything official from the stewards about this? I telephoned a bookmaker and they said it came under orders.

all markets on Bf are settled based on the offical result, if its officially a NR then the market HAS to be resettled.

This is surely an example of when the bookies hide behind rule 4 and settle as per their best interests.
Horse was 10/1 this morning when bets placed on heavens guest at 12/1 yet only 4/1 when declared a non runner.
Either a 20p or a 5p deduction. I know which one they will be choosing.

just being clueless they have to resettle.  They knew there was a stewards so they shouldn't have settled.

Antepost bets on Speculative Bid should be lost whatever the stewards decided.

I backed Heavens Guest at 16/1 yesterday morning and was settled at the full odds by Ladbrokes - no rule 4 at all depsite all the non runners, even before Speculative Bid was made a n/r.
I withdrew my winnings straight away but won't be surprised if it gets kicked back and resettled.

Yep, mine was settled originally with.no rule 4 but has been taken away and re-settled with a 20p rule 4 deduction.

I am utterly amazed it is deemed a non runner.

They have opened a can of worms now.

Remember Eshtiaal at Perth, jockey never got near the start line yet was deemed a runner.

Checked with Coral live chat, settled as a loser ante post as per rules.

I thought Ante post rules became void on the morning of the race ?
By:

When: 25 Jul 15 16:46
Antepost rules are valid until final declarations, then it's 'day of race' rules.

'All in run or not' Facts. Just wondered if they might have waived the rules for a bit of PR but obviously not. They don't have to after all and I'm not complaining.

exactly - I actually thought that that would have been deemed a non under the fair start rule, but not the slightest murmur from anyone

went to the gym after channel 4 racing thinking it hardly make any difference to me if i was i had a no deduction on heaven guest and lost speculation bid stakes, or the other way round, oh god im confused now !

I backed SB with Joes, Fred and the Magic sign and was refunded all of the bets. I know my mate had a bet with 395 and they refunded.

By talking to my mate who is a manager in one, no deduction is made on winning bets on HG!

Hope this clarifies it for you!
