When does an Ante-Post market become a "normal" market?

I answered your question correctly.

The normal market would be found about 48hrs before the race and is no way connected to the ante post market.

No need to call me names.

When the final declarations are made, so 48 hours for Flat (mid-day 2 days prior to be exact) , 24 hours (mid-day the day prior) for NH unless early declaring race, then 48 hours.

On Betfair the AP Market is suspended upon declarations being finalised and there is a new day of race market. Bookies should revert to non-runner no bet rules.

Thanks for that. I like many others had an each way bet on the race yesterday lunchtime and with this morning's two non runners pushing the field size down to 8 am getting a little worried about the place terms.

Is it not 10am as opposed to midday?

Not sure, but declarations have to be made by 12 although markets may be suspended earlier? But I could be wrong, I have been before!
