I must look it up but I am guessing that is his first ride at Wethrby as no one could have that mistake on purpose I.e to take back on a front runner at Wetherby of all places.
It's true for Marten Julien Hanagan only works for plan A. His noodle can't process an alternative

Hannigan rode at the 1st Wetherby meeting in April.

Only 3rd on odds on fav then. So no excuse about not riding their before.

johnston says he tells his jockeys to ride his horses where they feel comfortable, well hanagan clearly didnt take those orders, it really is difficult to find a plausible reason why he did what he did

Wonder if either of the racing channels would have the balls to  launch a WORST RIDE OF THE MONTH competition and afford it the same coverage as the Best Ride?

That dire (not bent) effort from Hannigan would now be 1.01 to scoop first prize!

bit of poetic justice there him getting nailed on the 1.01 shot. He doesn't deserve a winner for his antics in the first

If mj horses do not get an uncontested lead ' jockeys are told to put the hand brake on, find trouble ,down tools etc etc

if you watch the race hanagan breaks ok on his horse from a good draw, the lead is there for him if he wants it but he's looking across to the badly drawn 33/1 winner who's getting his ears ridden off to get the lead round the whole field, hanagan had all the aces and decided to fold, he takes a pull then goes wide, then allows himself to get boxed in, then doesnt seem that bothered about getting out, i really do think this ride should be investigated as it made no sense in terms of trying to achieve the best possible placing

hanagan should watch D Probert on his odds on shot, cl up keep out of trouble, then hands & heels, best horse wins, either he was incompetent or crooked. cheers.

it's taken me 4 hours and 20 bets to recover from Hanagans corrupt looking ride, he, imo never gave the horse a snowballs. cheers.

I doubt there is a straighter jockey riding than Hanagan, some of the above posts are a disgrace. I'm not saying he's the greatest jockey ever or doesn't make mistakes but to say he is bent is beyond ridiculous.
